Title: Centaur grips
Post by: MCS on April 27, 2012, 09:45:00 AM
Can anyone post pictures of their centaur grips high, medium, low for comparison. I know he will make it to order. I just want to see what Jim's stock high, med,low look like. Thank Mike.

Here a view of mine, one is the new Triple carbon (Darker red tone Cocobolo) and I had Jim make the grip in between a medium and high.

The other is the Chimera (Lighter brown tone Cocobolo) and it is more of Jim’s standard grip.

The second picture is of the Med/High in my hand.

I’ll post another view of the shelve side, in a  moment.

Here a shelf view of the two but the Med/High is slightly turned back and is not a true representation of the grips profile but i think you get the picture.

The Med/High grip riser has and extra 1/8 th layer of black fiberglass on the front to add additional weight and I believe added to the more pronounced grip profile.

My thoughts on both? My first bow was the standard grip and it feels good but i thought i would like something with a little more meat so on the Triple Carbon I asked Jim to beef it up a little more.  Now after shooting both I think I would like a mix between these two.  Of course the size of your hand would matter.

Not sure how the grip is compared to hand size but if you were to measure my hand around the thickest part with the hand laying palm side down and measured around the widest point from bottom thumb knuckle all the way around I measure 10”.  And then measured from base of palm side to tip of middle finger for length I measure 8”, if that make sense?

One last one, this is a Carbon elite I own for a few months (Cecil wanted it back   :D  ) I’m pretty sure it was a sandard grip and you can see how it looks in my grip.

Now you know Jim will nail what you tell him and he will require a drawing of your hand, but you need to be very discriptive to make sure he fully understands your wishes, he’s great, but he is not a mind reader   :knothead:

If you have any concerns of clearly describing your wants then maybe a short video would convey it better.

Me too.   :bigsmyl:
Medium grips (the Chris Surtees bow on the end may be a medium-high);

Thanks for the pics. I'm thinking medium or medium low.
