I would love to see photos of a Big River 21st Century LB. I have heard about them, but to my knowledge, have never seen one. How do they shoot? Do they like heavy wood arrows? Are they easy to match to an arrow-are they spine sensitive? Thanks in advance for any help.

Phil,
Most of the Big River longbows that you see on TG are John's version of the 21st Century style longbow. Long Riser and a R/D shape. The other that is more common lately is the '59 Kodiak replica. If you do a search for Big River in PowWow you will see several of John's bows. John makes other bows of course like flat bow recurves, and Hill style D bows but they are less common.

Heres a response I received from Brian H. AKA Bigriver.
"Models John makes:
59er replica
68 Super Kodiak replica
Widow one piece replica
reflex deflex longbow
Johns recurve design one piece
21st century copy longbow
Hill style longbow
Flatbow
Call John for his wait time, it is usually pretty short. Hope this helps.
The wait time was 8-10 weeks when I called and I believe all his models are $500.00 in a world of $1000.00 bows.

CB,
No doubt that Brian's list is much more accurate than my observations. RE: lead time, a year ago my bow was done in 2 weeks. Don't know what it is now but I'll find out...........I ordered a bow about two weeks ago and at that time there were three in process ahead of me.

Phil, Johns bows are awesome shooters, very easy to tune and with the rite tip weight you can tune different spine arrows with no problems. Do the the search like Pete said. We have a bunch of Big Rivers on here. It doesn't take john much time to get one glued up. If you get one you won't be disappointed.

Brian,
Is this the 21st Century copy or reflex deflex? Sick looking bow. Seems like a longer riser?

Thanks to all, especially Brian-that's what I wanted to see. I have John's flatbow, recurve, Hill style, and RD longbow. I had heard of the 21st Century bow, but never seen one. I like it very much. Guess I need to call him. Thanks CB for the phone number.

Love the contrasting bamboo on the side profile Danny. Those have reeeally nice curves.
I gotta stop buying bows and just stick with one! It's just so hard! This place will keep you broke, land you in divorce, or make you a crappy shot! I'm calling John...
