After deciding to start using a string tracker( see Turkey Nightmare) I wanted to find a simple, secure way to attach it to my longbow without ruining my bow or quiver.
I made a simple bracket out of some 1" wide, 1/8th" thick aluminum flat stock. I bent it the the shape i needed, drilled a hole for the string tracker to bolt to. Drilled a 1/4" hole and replaced the short 1/4" bolt on the lower part of my Boa quiver with a 3/4" long 1/4" bolt. It is secure I can adjust the angle on it and I can simply swap the original bolt back in and it's like it was never there. Once I knew it worked I took it back apart, rounded the edges on my belt sander and painted it flat black.

Looks really good! I like the simplicity and lack of straps.

I like it! A good idea.

Good job!!

Good job but I like mine mounted above the arrow when possible to prevent down pull when it unwindes.

Great Idea!!!! I wonder if that would work for a bowfishing reel?

I shot it this way out to 20yds and couldn't see any difference in accuracy but I am going to give it a shot with it mounted above. I made a bracket that went on the hood, but i just didn't like where it placed the tracker. My solution if i want it above is to simple put the quiver on upside down. i remove all my arrows anyway while hunting from a blind. I could alway use a back quiver and mound the tracker without the arrow grippers or hood attached.
Mounted upside down

I looked at a picture of one and I don't see why not, either the way I did it with a longer bolt or through one of the other holes on the support.

A tub style reel should work fine, since after I connect on a fish I put the bow down and fight it by hand anyway. It is a pretty secure mount. If I was using this for fishing I would remove the hood and mount the bracket to the quiver mount and remove the grippers
