Spent Fri. and Sat. at the annual Colorado Traditional Archers Society high country shoot. As usual it was a great shoot. I was lucky enough to meet Steadman and Tracy, for this site. Both great guys! Also, met South Cox, tried to convince him we were related, don't think he was buying it. He and his wife seem like very good people. Also, got to visit and shoot with old friends, love this shoot!

This morning I was so worked up after the shoot and all the hunting talk, I had to hit the woods. As you can see it was a great morning...

Thanks Guy's! Bradley it is a really good shoot. Hopefully I'll meet up with there next year!?!?
-
Yeah, i don't think they like me, they scheduled it on my work weekend like all the other good shoots. I only work the weekend fifty percent of the time, but all the good shoots end up being scheduled when I work! Love the pics, especially one with flower and squirrel!
-
David that stinks! I schedule vacation a year in advance just so I am sure to get the time off.
-
Great pics Jason! Good to see you again.
PM me your address...I have one of your boy's arrows from the bucket that I bet he would like back.
Take care
Jake

Yeah I know, but I'm using two weeks for elk season and also talking some next month for my girlfriends wedding lol, she keeps Freudian slipping and saying " my wedding" CBA jamboree is on my work weekend too.

From the amount of clothing, looks as if it was a little chilly. Only made it to 98 here today.
-
Ric- It has been reaching the high 90's here also, but it has been mid to low 40's in the high country in the mornings.
-
Man, you take some great pictures!!
Thanks for taking us along on your weekend.

Bisch - I would say it is approx. 200 miles from Denver.
-
I really need to get to this shoot one of these years! Maybe next year I'll pull out of Michigan after the Compton rendezvous and just keep heading west....
Great pictures!!
-
Bisch, there are couple of local clubs that are open to shoot at in the foothills just outside of Denver. Ever make it up this way I can take you to them.
-
Nice pics , thanks foe sharing!!

Jason it was a pleasure to meet you, and looks like I should have come with you to look at animals. If you haven't been to this shoot, you are missining out. The best shoot in the country! I t was great to meet a lot of ne great guys, I just wished I had more time to shoot.
I was finally able to meet Tracy (Shedrock) what a great guy and fun to bs with. I finally got to meet Jake as well, as we have been trying to hook up for some time. I also met Felix from Italy, a class act and a gentleman for sure. Oh and a heck of a shot! Plus it was fun to be set up next to South and talk bowhunting and stickbows during the down time of the crowds.
A great event and one I won't be missing for quite some time!!!
-
I just love looking at the pics in these Rockies threads!
-
Looks like a great time, and wow that is some beautiful country!!!!!
-
It was a great weekend! Sorry I didn't get to meet you Jason, maybe next year.
Good to see my old friends Ryan,Jake,Mark Steve, etc. and share camp with my good friend Felix.
-
Just love the pics, awesome. Hope you had a great time.
-
Great pics! Looks like we almost met. I should have recognized you from previous pics/posts. Great weekend. Got to meet lots of new folks and some I haven't seen in a while. My 5 year old Ryan still thinks Felix swam from Italy with his bow on his back. Our shady camp spot turned into a dust bowl. My boy says we should have been smart like Tater and camped up top near his cool truck.
Fantastic group of folks for kids to be around. Steadman, Ryan says (direct quote when I told him I was writing a note) "Thank you for the stickers and have a great day".

It was a great shoot again! We had over 400 shooters. Once again I didn't get any photos of the great ranges. So many of the shots look so real. Thanks for posting pics guys.
-
I'm hoping my son will give me a few tips on form.
Everyone comments on how solid he is for a 5 year old (any year old really) and then they watch me shoot and ask who taught him...!?! :^)

Was glad to see some old friends, and met some new ones...including Ryan Steadman...just as nice as he seems on here, and quite the salesman :readit: :biglaugh:

Jake I spoke with Luke on Sunday and he enjoyed the shoot for sure. He will become a member and I am thinking of it as well. Good excuse to see how you guys do it in the Rocky Mts. Thanks for the hospitality on behalf of my son. If you guys ever get back on the east coast in PA and need a place to hang your hat the invitation is open. tom massaro

It really is a great shoot maybe next year I can bring my sons and grandkids. I was the guy wearing the western hat. Tell Wayne sorry I did not get to buy a knife or two but I had to leave early Sat. morning my vertigo kicked in and I woke up with the earth spinning. Bill Ward--NM.

Tom, we had a great time shooting with Luke. I am glad he made it up for the shoot.

Jake - He is a nice one, but my wife will beat me senseless if I told you where he is!LOL!
Thanks Killi - I don't get to work in the high country every day, but often enough to know how lucky I am! Helping out on a pipeline survey, so lots of miles in the mountains.

My wife and I had a fantastic time at the shoot! Lots of great people to visit with, shoot alongside and a fantastic location. We'll definitely be putting this one on the calender for next year.
