I don't know if you guys enjoy watching arrows fly downrange as much as I do or not. But, here is a video of me shooting mostly from the targets perspective. Its about 5 min long of just me shooting. If for nothing else, comic relief. Enjoy!
75# @ 28 Super Ghost drawn to 30"; 800 gr AD trad hammerheads. (http://youtu.be/QTwOVRLrC-A)

"Hey y'all, watch this."
A redneck's famous last words. :biglaugh:

75lbs@30 shooting it with ease, Chuck Norris might not want to try and take it back. Good shootin elkbreath.

Looks like a good time in the back yard! I bet that video would not have been 5 minutes long if you were down here. It was 109 degrees here yesterday! It stinks just walking outside to get in the car, it is so hot.

looks like your ready for elk season!
That Gost shoots the hell out of 800 grains :scared:
-
My body aches just think about shooting 75# and from those different angles! Good shooting Dan!
-
Do you think Gerry at Great Northern could take ....maybe 40#'s off the bow so I could shoot it.... :biglaugh: Nice to be young!!
-
I thought you were going to shoot your camera after reading the title. Glad you did not. Good shooting.
-
Nice shooting, I like the bow too.
-
At least you didn't say, "Here, hold my beer and watch this!" Those usually don't seem to go well...
Nice job!
-
Good shooting and great form my friend. Those arrows are flying like scud missles. No elk will be safe!LOL
-
Thanks guys! The comments are great, you guys are a riot. I've always thought churck norris was overrated, so I took his beard.
Hawkeye, We'll do that version this weekend...

wow!!! that's some cool footage! The bow is really silent! I have been thinking about shooting from crouching and stuff and yhis just gave me the motivation!
-
Shooting from your knees in a bent forward position is a good test as to whether you're "overbowed". Looks as though you have no problem! Love the dog's reactions as you're shooting. LOL
-
Love to hear arrows fly from the deers position, thanks and great shooting
-
Good shootin, Chuck!
At a 30" draw, your getting around 80# out of the bow, and an 800 grain arrow is just right.
If you rub the threads of your field points on a candle or paraffin wax, your points won't unscrew... and if you handle your arrows by the nock instead of the shaft, it's much easier & quicker to get em on the string.
-
Thanks for the input!
Lam bow, thanks. Yeah I go through a bunch of stringwax for that reason. Still seem to unscrew them easily...
I have practiced handling from the nock, but havent figured that out yet, too many years doing it backward. Perhaps I'll get back on that, I'd love to be able to do it without looking down, thank you for the advice, always appreciated.
By the way, its 81# at my draw, given my scale could be off a little.
I shoot from my knees most of the time, since most of my hunting shots are from my knees. I also shoot 20 or so arrows as close to laying horizontal as I can per night. I throw in all kinds of angles, you just never know. I've shot two animals from the laying nearly flat on my belly position since I leanred to do it. Just seems the animals get closer when you're down there and don't spook as much at the movement. Plus with antelope and Mulies, there often isn't much cover to hide behind.
Any requests on angles? I'll make up a new video! Maybe even change the scenery. Im'm going to get grass soon. Again, any advice is welcome.
regards

Your best friend watches you and flinches each time you release. There's nothing like a dog!
-
You're welcome, elkbreath, glad to help.
Those are some good positions to practice from, especially for ground hunters.
Try laying on your back to shoot. You'll have to roll the string with the arrow into the sight window to keep it on the shelf, but it'll work.
-
Damn, that hurt my shoulders just thinking about it! Anyone got some Advil? :notworthy:
-
Cool video elkbreath
Try a bit of teflon tape on the point threads it works better than string wax.
-
Great video elkbreath, looks like you are getting dialed in.I bet those heavy arrows hit super hard.I also like shooting from my knees, but my old football knees are starting to complain when its time to stand up.
-
Good shooting...that little dog knew it was your last arrow. He/she was watching you the whole time. No telling how many times it has seen you do that!
-
Yeah,
Her name is cricket; the arrow finding miracle. She'll stand beside me, or a tad in front and watch every arrow, ussualy twitching or half chasing at every arrow. Stumpin is awesome cause she'll chase the arrow till she sees it, or put her nose on the ground, etc...
The whole reason I did this shoot in the first place was to "hear" the arrow on its way. I'm not as quick as a buck that has spent his life live-wired, but there just isn't that much time there? IS that arrow too loud? Is the bow too loud? Imagine a big jim 300 or a tree shark on the end of that bugger. go ahead and jump but I think it'll be too late. It blows me away how they ever have enough time to react.
you ever seen that video on youtube of a squirrel dodging an arrow? In slow mo he watches as it goes by...where is that vid...
I'm working on the "from my back shot". We'll get another video up here soon. Thanks for the input guys!

Man-I'm an old wimp-ha! You made me tired watching
