I'm fairly new to the trad world. A wheelie convert. I've been looking at back quivers and like the Deluxe Royal from 3 Rivers. Is there anyone who can give me some feed back on it. Or better yet suggest a better quiver. I'm looking for something well built, comfortable, and doesn't spill all my arrows when I bend over to pick up something. Also I'm a big guy wear a 4XLT shirt and need straps that fit.

The Deluxe Royal is a very well made quiver.
As you get deeper into traditional archery, you will suddenly look around and realize that you have about 10 quivers. I love a good back quiver at shoots and when roving around stump shooting, but I don't care for them while hunting. Lots of guys do though, and the Deluxe Royal is a good one.

check out steven catts, the leathersmith he does excellant work as well as Art vincent

If you are planning on using it for hunting, I would suggest the soft leather back quiver from Howard Hill Archery. It is well made, collapses on your arrows to keep them quiet and is less than half the price of the Deluxe Royal.

I've been known to make a good one.
And Ill make the strap to fit....

If Mikes quivers are anywhere near the quality of the armguard he made for me, buy his! :bigsmyl:

The build along Rob has here makes a good one. Whatever kind you choose though needs to be the narrowest at the bottom, coming up to a larger top. I had one made to the build alog specs out of vegetable tanned buffal hide. I had an adjustable belt added and an outside pocket for file, stringer, extra string, roll of black tape etc...
Listen, all leather will break in to fit your back if you wear the thing correctly. It should be snug and it will comfor to the natural arch of your back which holds the arrows tight and rattle free. Even allowing you to bend over problem free. So material isn't any more important than proper fit. Wear and break it in correctly, you'll love it.
I would strongly suggest you looking into the templete posted here. It makes a great quiver if you substitute their strap for a strap type. Add a little pocket and yu got the real deal. I try and post a pic f iit. God Bless

I don't know if this is the right size or not. Since they changed the format of photobucketI (http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k503/AWPForester/turkeyandlongbow005.jpg) am uncertain how to edit now. God Bless
