Title: Big game or small game?
Post by: moleman on August 13, 2012, 09:43:00 PM
As much I love to hunt Whitetails and Turkeys, the action of hunting small game is second to none, i   think the fact of more shooting opps. teters me to the small game side.
Which is your favorite? small game or big game?   :campfire:

For enjoyment, small game.  For meat, big/medium game.  My favorite game of all time to hunt is tree squirrels.

I'm with GDPolk, squirrel hunting is a lot of fun. Seems I always have more fun small game hunting than big game.

NO real small game in my neck of the woods.  I just shoot hogs year round.  When I did live on the Mainland I loved shooting small game.

Rabbits. And in the late summer and winter its coyotes. Ground squirrels are always a target. Go deer hunting but get board and start calling coyotes.  :jumper:

I like big game. Elk and deer, but I love just being out there and plus I can get some scouting in while keeping an eye out for the small stuff...

I like big game, but small game seasons are so much longer, and you get more shooting in.

You guys in states with hogs are lucky. That would be awesome to hunt them all year long.

My favorite is hunting spring turkey with a bow,so I guess I'll go with medium game.Early season whitetails are cool too,but once November rolls around I switch to hunting rabbits, squirrels and ducks with my birds until the end of March.I do manage to get the bow out a few times for deer late season though.Hunting starlings is a blast with a longbow and blunts, puts hawk food in the freezer too. They're like mini blackbears on the baitpile.  :p

Nothing like November in the whitetail woods.
But stalking carp in June and July is pretty cool too.
