Does anyone have any experience with these bows? I know someone who has one for sale, but he is not sure when it was made. I was not able to gleen anything from the RER website. Any input would be appreciated!

Great bows! Going from memory, I think the XR was first built about 5 years ago, so the one you are looking at couldn't be any older than that. Give Kevin a call - he would be able to tell you exactly when your friends bow was built.
I have an RER LX, which is basically the same riser but with longbow limbs.

Great static tip design. Very smooth, very fast, a ton of bow for the money with the looks to boot.

I have one and love it. Shoots fast and feels great. Mine is a 62"and and is really smooth. I say go for it!

I recently sold a RER Static tip bow.....great performers and excellent quality!

I own an RER Arroyo and all I can say is since I have started shooting it I havent looked at a bowyers website. They are great bows and great people. But buying and shooting a bow is a personal thing so YMMV

A great bow,I have the LXR combo and really like it.Give Kevin a call,he's a great guy to talk to,he'll answer all your questions,I called him last week,he wasn't there but he called me right back.
-
I appreciate all the follow-up. This is very helpful. The bow is really nice looking so must admit I have been leaning that direction.

I have an RER XR that I ordered from Kevin. He is a great guy to deal with and his bows are excelent!! Mine was ordered last year it is 60" 64@28 and a SMOKER!! His bows are fast, quiet and very shootable.
God Bless,
Nathan

I bought a used XR this year and emailed Kevin at RER with the serial no. off the bow. I was mostly interested in the woods that went into the bow. He got right back to me with the riser, limb core, and veneer woods. I tried this with Martin Archery once, and they couldn't help me at all.

Fantastic bows. I placed an order with kevin this past summer and can't wait to get my hands on my second XR. The bow feels great in the hand. Shoots hard and true, can't ask for anything else out of the bow

I have owned or shot most of the big names out there and Kevin's XR is one of my all time favorites...in fact I will be adding one to my stable this very week.
Kevin's static design is excellent, his riser, grip and fit/finish are flawless. Easy bow to shoot and longbow quiet!
You won't be sorry!

I just picked up an XR in a trade. I was a little unsure of the low grip at first but it seems to be working out pretty good. Like O&U said, " easy bow to shoot and longbow quiet"
-
I finally got one this spring. The best static tip curve I've owned or shot.
Fit and finish amazing, quiet as my fav longbows. And a great performer.
Kevin has impeccable records and can tell you everything about the bow. You won't be sorry if you pick it up.
My go to bow this fall, and one fo the few bows I've owned that arent going anywhere.

Based on this input I may just have to make the deal. Thank you all for your input. I don't necessarily need another bow, but.....!

Its hardly ever a question about NEED... :)

NO,more like,I want,I want,I gotta have...LOL. :archer:

I picked up an RER XR used froma fellow Trad Ganger and I have to say the last couple of inches of my 29.5" draw seem to get smoother than the rest of the draw as those static tips reach vertical. Great shooting bow!

They're great bows. I sold mine "only" because I need more mass/weight in the handle. It was the smoothest pulling bow I ever owned, and I draw almost 31".
