I'd like to purchase a handful of quality knapped points. I've recently developed a fascination with the art of knapping, and would eventually like to start creating my own. But first I'd like to pick up some quality pieces, both for display and hunting, and also to serve as examples to mimic when I start making my own.
Also, can you experienced knappers recommend literature I should be looking to pick up? Both on the history of knapping and instructional books as well?
Thanks!!!
Andrew

He posts here fairly often.

FLINTKNAPPING - Making and Understanding Stone Tools
by John C. Whittaker
This is an eccellent book that starts you where you should start knapping. It has good pencil drawings and excellent explanations of how to.
The best way to learn knapping is to sit down with other knappers and let them help you. Most knappers I have met over the years are generous with their knowledge.

I'll second Flintknappers.com.
Rather than one or two lithic artists you have the choice of dozens.
