I'm sure Chuck will get on here shortly with some better pics but I just picked up #2 and #3 from him this morning(one for me,one for my son)
Both bows are 47lbs@28"& 68"length.  Brown glass back and belly cocobolo riser and amberboo cores. Very classy looking bows!  I'll try to get some more pics up shortly.

Very nice Rick! Congrats! I have been chatting with Chuck several times about these and yours are the first pictures I have seen. I know Thom Jorgensen has one on the way as well. I am secretly hoping Chuck misses the weight on Thom's by about +15 pounds!!! (Chuck will get that joke)

I will be getting one from Chuck soon. Just have too many already in the works right now to commit to another. Sweet looking bow!

This bow is a shooter for sure and everything I could ask for in a Hill Style. Smooth, quiet and dead in the hand, not to mention it has a very classic look.

Steve I saw Thom's bow while I was visiting with Chuck and picking my bows up, it's gonna be a looker for sure!  We're headed to Hog Heaven in May and Two Tracks will be well represented.  Might have to borrow Chuck's banner and hang it from the porch down there!

Well, I don't know that my pics are any better than Ricks but here they are. full length braced will have to wait till the battery takes a charge.

I will be posting the bow and all the specs to my website soon. Here is a quick run down for you all.
The Bow is my "Echo" model. Slight string Follow, about 1/2".
The riser is 14" and the grip can be wedged, rounded over, dished or slight locator.
Tips will be standard with wedge and no overlays on the bow at all.
Width at F/O is 1.125" and the tips are sub-1/2"
A more detailed debut will follow in a few days.

Below are the Butlers bows and he has given the specs. The coco is pretty good I think. The other bow is the shooting prototype I had at a few shows this past year for some of you to try out. Thanks for the interest and kind words.
Merry Christams.

Very nice bows you got there Rick! I guess we know what Sean is getting for Christmas! #2 and #3, that's very cool as long as we've been talking about these!

Those bows look great Chuck, I can't wait til I have one too! I was actually in Lansing this morning and wondering if I had time to drop in or not. Now I wish I would have made time for it.

Steve I'd be honored to have sister bows with you, especially if I don't have to shoot the 90#er

Nice work Chuck.

Did you make any changes to the bow i shot last year?  looks like skinnier maybe?...looks great.

See you at kzoo and the bunny  stomp.
Title: Re: Hill style bow from Two Tracks
Post by: 2treks on December 20, 2012, 08:13:00 PM
Thanks Guys,

Matt, Yes probably a tad skinnier. I took one of Ricks bows out to test shoot it the other day and just smiled when the first 3 arrows out of the bow went to my spot with nothing more than a slight twang due to a tight nock. I had 2 touching and the 3rd was about a 2215 away. all three had that price tag I was aiming at on my target scared stiff-18yds. I might have to get me one of these things.
Working on this project has re-kindled my love of a Longbow Proper
See you at the shows,

I can't wait to shoot one, I spoke with Chuck the other day and he put a lot of thought into his design. Those are just beautiful. And one thing he always says is he is a Custom bowyer, so he will do what you ask regarding grips and all, not just "kind of attempt" it.

Most of you guys know me, and Chuck knows me well. First thing I had to do was make my own string for it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the strings he uses, I'm just a bit OCD and I like my strings in the Michigan Longbow Assoication colors. 6 red plus 1 black, second bundle 6 yellow and 1 black. All D97:

As long as I got this far tonight, here is a close up of the top tip:

Here is a closer look at my coco riser... Looks a bunch like the Butler boys braced at 6.0" :

Last one for tonight, drawn profile (remember I cant my bow a bit)

Center serving, nock points, and silencers will have to wait until tomorrow. We'll have to get a look at the veneer on the back of this bow some other day    :archer:

Alright, I took a lunch break and got the serving and nock points done. You can now see why I'm having such reservations about wrapping leather over this handle!

I also installed a pair of Two Tracks felted wool silencers, I got enough for all my bows while I was there yesterday

And here is a teaser pic of the back, I can't wait until the sun comes out and I can get a good picture of dangerous side of this bow!!!

Chuck,

If you read this, I held and shot Todd's bow today.

Magnificent; and you should see how well he shoots it. That phenolic looks like a fine grained wood. Almost aged osage-like.

Very nice.

I got to shoot Chuck's Hill at GLLI.  Very, Very Very nice shooter!!  If I ever get back on my feet, this one is first on my short list.....been that way for many months now.

Chuck pays close attention to the details.  His work is flawless and the design superb!

Congratulations Chuck!

Jianhua reminded me last week of that "green bow" you will build or her one day...we'll be in touch.
