Title: CX shafts and arrow wraps ?
Post by: frassettor on January 12, 2013, 03:24:00 PM
Does anyone have trouble applying arrow wraps on CX  shafts? I put the wrap on a flat surface and roll with my hand while applying pressure. I'm not sure if its the coating on the arrows that causes the wraps not to stick or what it is. Any suggestions?

did you clean the shaft before applying the wraps? wipe the shaft down with alcohol , use some fine steel wool on them and try the wraps again

I've wrapped both the CX black shafts and the woodgrain Heritage shafts. I always use some 00 steel wool and lightly sand the shaft, then a wipedown with acetone on a clean rag. I have never had a problem with wraps not sticking. I use Onestringer brand wraps BTW. I use a mouse pad to roll the shafts on to install the wraps.

Clean with 90% iso alcohol - I had the same problem.

They are all coming with some type of coating on them the past couple years.  I just wipe them down with acetone before applying the wraps.  If not using wraps I just fletch with platinum without needing to wipe them down and have had no adhesion issue either.

I wipe with alcohol and use a mouse pad when applying the Onestringer brand wraps.
