Sorry guys this has been a hectic time for me the last few months!! I am going to do a small hunt this year and do the final hunt next year 2014!! I wanted to make sure we would even have snow before posting this and it looks like we will!! The hunt is next weekend, the 16th and 17th of February. I am gonna limit the hunt this year to 25-30 people max. It will be a bit different than in years past as I am asking for a $100 donation from each person attending so we may donate it to St.Judes as always. Anybody 18 and under are free!! I am still asking everyone to bring an item for a raffle on Saturday evening and tickets will still be sold for the raffle, this way we will still end up with a sizable donation. Also rather than having everyone bring a food item and all that we will just use the money from the donations and buy food for the dinner and lunch and breakfast, unless you guys want to just throw in another $10 a man, we can work that out as the thread moves along. Next year we will go back to the old fashioned way and make the hunt just like old times!! The hunting has been great and we are leaving the bunnies alone pretty much!! I believe I may have killed only 25-30 so far, so plenty more out there. Please PM me if you want to come and I will add you to the list, I already have several if not more people coming so let me know ASAP if you want to attend!! Sorry for the short notice, but anyone who has come in the past knows this is a hunt of a lifetime!! If you come please bring a raffle item and drinks such as gatorade, soda and bottled water!! Desserts are always welcome as well. Lets try and get at least 20 or more guys and gals and young ones, young ones do not count towards the total, so if 2 adults come and bring five kids that only counts as two towards the total. The house is ready and anyone wanting to spend the night(you should)can and are more than welcome to feel at home, just bring bed rolls blankets, pillows whatever ya need to sleep on. We can sleep 30 at the house pretty easily, we have a couple seperate rooms if any young ladies or old ladies(don't get mad at me for that one!! LOL!!) want some privacy!! So let it begin, PM me and please make sure you are going to come if you tell me that you are!! I also have a new spot to hunt this year and as everyone who has attended in the past knows, my spots are usually pretty good!! So come out and enjoy some of the best Traditional rabbit hunting you will ever experience and the best group of folks known to man kind!! I also want to stress this huint is not for the meek, if you are hunting hard and doing your job right as a pusher, you should and will be bloodied by the end of the day. We hunt heavy cover and we hunt hard, plan on walking several miles and some of that will be in some of the nastiest cover you have ever seen!! Start PM'ing me as soon as you are sure you can attend!! Here we go folks!! OOOOOHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I know its been a long time since I posted and we have had as many as 100 people attend this hunt, but right now I am surprised by the lack of posts on the thread. The hunt is in Selkirk, NY, just outside of Albany. If you have a chance to go you should, it is an absolute great time with great people, and I am pretty sure you wont find a place with more cottontails than Shawn's.

PA Stickbow Boy - It is about a 7 hour drive, a little over if I remember correctly.
Me and 4 other Butler County Boys went up for this hunt in 2010 and 2011. Its a blast.
The terrain and "rabbitat" are identical to our Rabbitat here in Butler Co.
Great people, great hunt, great raffle.

If you can get in on time and can make the drive this is an event for the memory bank. If you dont have a hoot at this hunt you just dont like having fun. :campfire:

This was my 1st "all traditional" event in 2010, it was unreal. After shooting a recurve for 20 yrs, I had no idea there were that many trad shooters out there!

Yeah have not been to send personal invites but Mikey knows if I had a thousand guys coming he would be 1001!!I will try and PM him as well!! I know have been out of touch but expected a bigger response. We normally draw between 80-100 guys the last few years of the official hunt. I know short notice but this will be a good one!! I have another 56 acre piece that blends into Briar Back Mountain acrossed the creek from it as a matter of fact and I know that will be loaded with bunnies too, have great access to it as well!!! Also it is only 2:15 from Yankee Stadium or a little less if ya don't mind some speed on you trip. I am 10 minutes from Albany NY and have some of the best Rabbitat there is, look at the thread from a few weeks back!! We killed 12 bunnies with 8-10 guys in about 4.5 hrs of hunting. Been known to limit out(6)in 15-20 minutes with my shotgun!! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

What license do I need small game and archery? Is there a 3 day license or do I have to buy a yearly one?

Gil, judo's are not a great choice as the hang up and catch in the thick cover, blunts, hex heads and plan old field point work best. Here we go Ed, found it! For those that weren't there, there was about 70 of us walking down a hedgerow at the beginning of the hunt, a bunny runs out of the hedgerow right through us, Jeremy was able to pin it with his foor as it ran by!

It was pretty amazing!! After a few photos it was released, neatest catch and release I have ever seen.

OK folks it is coming together, we needsome more people for sure!! This used to be a huge hunt and I am surprised we are not getting more interest. I know it is short notice, but Jeff and Tyler, Jeremy, I have not heard from many of the old crew!!! We can use a few things such as plastic silverware and platter type paper plates, styrafoam cups and any drinks ya want to bring, we can always use gatorade, water, juice, whatever. Post here if ya can bring something!! We have plenty of snow and the hunting should be awesome!! If ya can make it, ya should come!! This has certainly gotten the fires burning, unfortunately I will not be able to make it this year, Hunter is playing varsity basketball, (as a sophmore), and has games this week/weekend and I don't want to miss them. I WILL be there next year, I promise!!!
Looking forward to the stories and pictures, if you haven't been, and can make it, you need to go, I've never seen another hunt like this one!

It should be a great hunt, not gonna do a lot of shooting in the yard, as there isn't gonna be much snow left. Thats fine, gives us more time to hunt. I know of some awesome raffle items that are being donated as well!! We are all gonna hunt the kids pieces this year as well. The Door Plant, the Old School and the Behind the horse pasture push all should be pretty good. We also are gonna do the Hiney Hole this year, we have not done that push in a few years and there are tons of bunnies in there, we hit the end of it last time we hunted and killed 3 I believe!! Its getting close, so rest up and be ready to kill some rabbits. Cindy and I are still working preparing the house and the basement but porta potty is on its way and table and chairs will be here Friday!! All I can say is OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

OK guys, I need everyone to post what they are gonna bring again, easier than me going through all the posts! We need plastic silverware, coffee and tea bags, cocoa, I think Ed said he was in for the coffee and such, styrafoam cups(big ones)paper plates(heavy duty) bananas and granola bars are always good to have, 2 boxes of cereal, a gallon of milk(whole milk, none of the 2% or skim!!)Someone could bring a couple dozen donuts for saturday morning, remember guys there is not a 100 guys so enough for 20-30 folks will be plenty. We are gonna do 3ft. sub and than pizza and wings!! Cindy is also doing a huge pot of venison chili to help suppliment the other food. Also drinks are very important and desserts as well, like cookies, pie, brownies, whatever will work. It is getting close and Cindy and I are about ready for ya'all to come and have a great time. As for a raffle item....I put a lot of hard thought into it. I have decided to donate my bow. My FIRST bow, won years ago here at this very hunt. Its a custom by the late Harold Couch, who I grew to know once I had the bow and am honored to have called him a friend.
The bow specs are 62" take down longbow. Antler limb bolts, and it has two sets of limbs. 45# and 56#. I think it would be awesome to pass on such a bow, especially this crowd. And I think it would be a great tribute to the bowyer.

Big Ed and Curt, enjoy it while you can my friends. When I first went to the bunny hunt I was dragging along 3 of my kids. The oldest is now married, the 2nd is in Fortaleza Brazil, and Jen is in college and getting ready to leave for Southern France for 18 months. It goes WAY too fast.

I got two gallons of milk, 4 different cereals, napkins, 48 brownies and hot chocolate for the kids.
I am leaving in the morning and should get there around 9 am or earlier. Mapquest says between 3.5 and 4.5 hours. I am leaving 4:30 so if there is no issues traveling because of weather or traffic I should get there between 8 and 9.
Is there someplace close that I can pick up a license on the way?

Cade. I know we have killed over 70 bunnies and hopefully we kill a few more this weekend. Lots of great raffle items as well. Just got home and wowwwwwww!!! What a blast. As usual nothing but good fellas and good hunting. Met Gil and Brett for the 1st time and they were like like old friends.
I personally took about 10 shots and saw maybe 50 bunnies with none brought to bag. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
The young fellas Cade and Peter did some major shooting and trooped it out hard.
Ill let Shawn tell bout the funds raised but it was substantial for a handfull of fellas.
You boys dont know how much I enjoyed being there with you all, thanks to everyone. :campfire: :archer:

I just got out of the shower, had to wash the blood off...my own :laughing: It was a great time. Just as Izzy said, what a blast!! Bunnies all over the place. I had about 8 or 10 shots myself and I couldn't even begin to count the bunnies seen. The food was great, thank you Shawn and Cindy for great hospitality.
Ill post some pictures when I figure how to get them off of my phone. it was great seeing everyone again, and meeting Gil and Bret.

OK folks I just got up and am a bit sore and cut up!! We seen a ton of rabbits and I had 20 shots myself and killed 1 bunny. We killed quite a few more than that!! I know on one push Izzy said he had seen over a dozen rabbits and Cade(Guru11)had shot all his arrows and had to collect them and empty his quiver again!! The newbies did really well, it was pleasure to have them here!! We are heading out again this morning, so I will have a bunny total later today!! There was well over 130 shots taken with plenty of misses but also plenty of kills!! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

Man I had a blast. I haven't seen rabbits like this for 40 years.
I felt like I know many Tradgangers as it is, but it is great actually meeting you guys.
This is a great site and I enjoy immensely, but it the people on the site that make it great.
I gaurantee the third weekend of February will be on my calendar for each year it is held. I could only stay one day due to prior responsibilities, but that won't happen again.

I fit right with the others of the "one day only" group.......I woke up this morning a little sore and with evidence of some blood letting!!!!
It was absolutely great to spend time with a bunch of old friends again, meet some new folks, and finally put faces to some "handles" I see here on TG......Gil, Cade, Big Ed......although I think Big Ed and I have run into one another before at one of the shoots last year.
The bunnies didn't disappoint........I won't even attempt to guess how many were actually "moved" yesterday........I know I was aware of at least 50. I got a decent number of shots, came close, very close, but as they say....that only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
During the evening raffle, I won the "bunny hunt bow", a nice old Bear Alaskan. Since it is the "designated" bunny bow, it will remain at the Leonard household for anyone that may need it in the future.
Still....no matter how much "bunny" fun we all had, this gathering, ultimately, was for the kids at St. Judes. It was an honor to spend a day with such generous bunny chasers.
Shawn - I hope you slept in a bit this morning....you deserved it! You are the heart and soul......the driving force.....behind all this. Thanks to you and Cindy for putting up with this ragtag bunch of cottontail chasers. :notworthy:
To those of you that are gluttons for punishment and just HAD to chase those bunnies for a second day.........stay warm, wear your body armor and above all else......make some of those bunnies pay for the blood you are about to shed!!!!

Thank you Shawn and Cindy for hosting! It was a great 2 days of hunting. Hard, fast, furious and painful. There was a lot of laughs, rabbits, and shots, with a great bunch of guys. Hope everyone made it home safe! It is back to work now.

Gil and Tony it was great to have you!! Gil fit right in, just like an old friend and Tony, well I have met up with him a few times before and he did get a bit bloody. We must have seen well over 50 rabbits and we saw quite a few more today. The raffle for the kids was actually incredible, we did not have a whole bunch of folks but we raised a lot of money for the amount of guys we had. I want to make a special comment about Cade(Guru11) and Peter(the one who has a little one!)these two young men are our future and they hunt as hard as anyone of us and I am proud to call both of them my friends and fellow hunters!! You two can hunt with me anytime!! I will post a number on how much was raised once we get some stories and pictures up. I will start with one of my own, we had just finished the doorplant push, which we actually did twice. We pushed it one way and than sent the drivers back as watchers and we pushed it back to them. Mikey and Ed had said several bunnies had run the gauntlet and had gotten through the watchers on both pushes and went into a real thick patch behind some of my neighbors houses. My nieghbors are aware of the Bunny Hunt and our efforts for St. Judes so they do not mind us walking thru their backyards and setting up next to there garages and playground equipment!! I took the drivers(as usual :rolleyes: )and had Nate and Curt lined up alongside of me, as soon as we started in out goes a bunny and the shouts of BUNNY!!!! are heard. We only go a short distance and out comes another and runs acrossed in front of me and stops 15 yards away in the wide open, I proceed to calmly raise my bow and loose an arrow, it flies an inch high and literally sticks in the ground and kind of rests acrossed the bunnie neck. I get another arrow nocked and as I draw he runs into some nasty stuff 30 yards away. I look for a hole but it looks like a jail cell window but I decide it is now or never. I let one fly and watch in amazement as my arrow finds its way thru and thumps him mid body. I throw the RER and run in after him, after a chase thru the nasties I grab the arrow and it pulls right thru, leaving one of my pink feathers sticking in him, I than make a desperation dive and have my prize!! The whole time I am thinking of Ishiwannabe(Jamie) as he has run down and dove on more bunnies than anyone I know!! I believe that was the 3rd. bunny of the day!! There was a ton more action and I will let other guys tell their own stories!! I just want to thank everyone who came for the great time and the great prizes donated to the raffle!! I really want to thank Jamie, as I won the Harold Couch longbow he so generously donated, Thanks bud, I love ya man!! What can I say->>>----------->

I don't have any really good stories other than bunnies are a tough critter to hit on the run, esp when they're 5 feet from you and running right st you!! half my shots I dont think I even anchored...just grip it and ripped it!! Came close a few times, but man was it alotta fun!
The raffle was awesome as usual, I was lucky enough to win a tapering tool and some knocks by generously donated by Guru and a GPS and self bow donated by GlenBo. Again, I can safely say that a good time was had by all

I know guys were tired but I was expecting a few more posts by now!! I know on the pasture push right behind my house Cade(Guru11) shot at least 10 times, I came thru and asked him if he had gotten any shots and he said I emptied my quiver, than paused and said "Twice"!! Izzy saw between 12 and 16 rabbits on that push and I know I shot a bunch of times and Big Ed shot at least 7-8 times on that push as well!! Peter killed two bunnies on that push and we had a couple hit and get away as well. As many have said it is not easy hitting a bunny that is flat out and dodging and weaving thru brush so thick it would be hard to drive a truck thru let alone an arrow!! Lets see some pictures guys, I know ya have a bunch!! OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

Plenty of bunny action both days... I lost a few arrows, not bad for over a dozen (missed) shots and twice that for rabbits seen... Gotta Love This Hunt! It was sooooo cold Sunday I had trouble drawing my bow to anchor... Around mid day, Shawn had me stand at "The Shed". I didn't feel cold when the action started! Three shots at cotton-tails doing fifty miles per hour making for the shed zone... Just like they were on a track... Got my bow back with three "almost" shots but no cigar. :dunno:
Met some nice folks and was happy for a new guy to get the first bunny on Saturday! Way To Go Emilio!

Memorable Moment of the weekend: was the first push of the day. I got 3 shots in the first 20 yards with newbie Emilio ("Amy") beside me. With "Amy" in amazement, watching me shoot, I think I turned on a bit of fire in him. Not 30 yards later I heard a good bit of commotion, and found out that "Amy" had shot and missed and got a second shot making a direct hit. Not bad for a new guy, 2 shots and 1 rabbit. It was a pleasure to have Emilio with us, he made a great hunting partner.

When I tell you I saw bunnies run past me 30 times on the school push I am being conservative. It was a bunny swarm, a damn bunny apocalypse!!! :scared: :scared: :scared: Never seen nothing like that before. I missed 3 times on that push and had a few stop where it was too thick to shoot. Guru II and "Little Peter" were to my right and I got enough thrill just watching them shoot like 30 times or so between the 2 of them. :campfire:

Made it back to Kansas finally. It's amazing the weather You can see in 7 different states in two days. From single digit temps and snow to almost 60 and driving rain.

It was great meeting everyone and I appreciate everyone making me feel so welcome. I have wanted to go on the Bunny hunt since I've been on TradGang because it looked like a great time. And it was!!
The Bunny's were everywhere. It was so hectic at times You didn't know to shoot stomp or dive on them. I think I did a little of everything.
Thanks everyone for such a great time. I'm already trying to figure out how to make the next one.

I want to Thank everyone again, we rasied a total of $2250 and that is a lot for the amount of guys we had, everyone was very generous!! I can tell you one thing between Cade, Peter and myself we had to have had over one hundred shots, not to shabby for a couple days of chasing bunnies!!

Emilio, little Peter and I sat out the last push on Sat eve. I don't know about them but I was hurting by then.
As we stood at the top of the hill waiting on the others to return little Peter found a target of an old plastic gas can. That boy shot that can 50 times or more. It was nice to see so much enthusiasm at the end of a long day.
Like Big Ed said Peter and Cade are 2 super kids to be around. Both of these boys have been brought up right. :clapper:

They were tough to hit thats for sure. All of my misses were by fractions of an inch but not good enough. Grazed a few and slapped a few with the side of my arras but no blood drawn. I sometimes get just as much a kick outa missing them as I do connecting. More laughter involved.

I had several shots and should have taken more. I came close on a couple of shots. I got to help Pete chase down one of his rabbits.
The action was furious at times. With Bunnies going every direction and people hollering BUNNY in two or three places at once.
Shawn's advice to me was " You gotta let it fly ".
I'll be more prepared next time.

Yeh some more pics would be great. I had been looking for this for a while and thought it wasn't happening. Was away from PowWow for a week and there is a dozen pages. Man was I bummed. Only consolation was that I had stuff on and wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. Whats the date for next year, i plan on making my plans now. Been to one and can't wait for another one.

Sorry for the delay guys...just getting back to "normal" around here.
We arrived at Shawn's in the late afternoon, and were greeted by Shawn. Always good to be around one of my "brothers from another mother"! Even though Cindy wasn't there, she'd left a wonderful venison stew for us to eat...yum!
After dinner we went to Wal-mart for a couple things, then spent the rest of the evening visiting and watching tv. Around 9:00 or so our good, good buddy Big Ed showed up. They don't come any better than Ed, and he's become a very special friend to Me and Cade. It was great to see him again.
After a restless nights sleep full of anticipation, it was morning and guys started showing up.

The Horse Pasture push was crazy! It's the push you've heard about earlier...Cade thinks he shot and emptied his quiver at least twice and retrieved a couple more and shot them. I had 4 close calls on that push as well at flat out bunnies, but never cut a hair. Pete "mamba" did much better nailing 2 while pushing!

Next year I will be there for both days.
I am going to have my wife rolling discs in the field on the farm for practice shooting at rabbits. I first have to convince her I won't be shooting at her though. Next year there will be lots of Hasenpfeffer at Shawn's place. MMM MMM good.

I am not sure what I am looking forward to more, the rabbit hunting or Shawn's wife's chilli!
I am also bringing my 60" Bear recurve, because a 68" Hill longbow is not conducive to pushing through some of that thick stuff.

The pink thingy is a yearly raffle prize, the winner must bring it back to the next years hunt. My daughter Allison won it this year and was a great help in setting up the food and helping run the raffle!! Thanks baby!! The hunt has and will be the 3rd. weekend in Feb. every year. It had gotten very big, we had 100 plus attend one year and to think we started out with 17 people the first year!! I will post the details at midnight Jan. 1st. 2014, we will run it like old times and have a fun shoot in the yard and a kids hunt starting at 10am. the first day. Keep an eye out for that thread, it will be a blast. Our record total is 6000 dollars and I would like to break that total next year!! As Gil was saying above, ya have to shoot and not really worry about a quality shot, take what ya get and hope and pray ya make contact. The horse pasture push is not really the pasture itself but a thick spot behind it and involves some cut paths and a neighbors garden plus some really great rabbitat!! I believe at least 12 bunnies were taken in there this year. I know Curt has some more pics. to post and there should be a few more stories to be told as well. This was a great group of guys and I am still pickin wildrose thorns out of my thighs and my arms and hands. A heavy pair of brush pants with double cordura and flannel lined really help and a small pair of hand shears come in handy to cut your way through some of the worst patches, plus leather gloves. I am gonna have a get together this year in August to improve the rabbitat by cutting and piling some fresh brush, as we really don't have many bunnies where we hunt!! :rolleyes: :bigsmyl: OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Agreed, ED is one of the best!! He stayed a bit late on Sunday even though he was wanted at home by his daughter and got stuck going thru the top part of BriarBack Mountain. It is the nastiest piece we push. I met him out in the pasture afterwards and he was lying on his back and bleeding from about ten spots, yet had a big smile on his face and not complaining. I saw 4 on that push but it was so thick they disappeared in a mass of wildrose!! He works hard and gets plenty of shots on these hunts, hopefully he is ready for some more next year!! first of all a big thanks to shawn and cindy for opening up thier home to all of us once again for the good of the kids. if you never been to the bunnie hunt you dont know what your missing. the action can be fast and furious weather it be from the screams of bunni through the woods, or the call of man down from one of the pushers getting caugh up in the briars. a big thanks to all the guys that chose to do the pushing, without them we would probley see a fraction of the rabbits that we see. as shawn says you half to step on everything youll be suprised what a rabbit will hide in or how tight it will sit until you almost step on it. it was great to be next to gil when he got his rabbit, and to see jamie drop his bow and jump on the rabbit so it wouldn't get away although gil had made a great shot and it realy wasnt going to far. the food was great and the company was even better thanks again shawn for all you do for al of us to make this hunt so special, Bunniiiiiiiiiiiiiie, oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

I would like to start with thanking Cindy Shawn and the girls for having us in their home, and being such gracious hosts. They are really good people, a great example to the youngsters. the bunny hunt is one of 2 trips I make every year with my 10 year old nephew Peter and we both really look forward to it. The other being the Muzzy. He started the first year by walking next to me, then I would push and ask Curt or someone to watch him while I pushed, now at a ripe old age of 10 he knows what to do. I don't have to ask for help anymore, whoever is with the standers keeps an eye on him and they end up having a blast. I appreciate it. Over the whole weekend not one harsh word is said to another(seriously) so these kids get to see what real men should act like. Good to each other, having good clean fun and the bonus is we are helping St Judes. In fact this year Peter asked just what St Judes is. I explained it to him, so I think it is having more meaning than running around chasing rabbits now. If any of you notice Peter has a JT patch on his quiver. That is in rememberance of a very close Friend James who died from brain cancer days before his 18th birthday. Some of you may remember James at the Muzzy. Sean great pics, it was nice meeting you, Bretto, and Gil this year. Yes there where tons of rabbits, I had atleast 10 makeable shots, but I don't go for the bunnies I like the comraderie. The bunnys are just a bonus. Ed your #2 sorry buddy, Cindy is #1. Hopefully we all get together again at the Muzzy or something before next February.

Pete & Mike, you guys are right. Although I've never been to the muzzy, Ive hunted Shawns place 3 times. I don't get out and do the "social" archery stuff as I'd like to, and I really feel like I'm missing out. I've met a great bunch of guys every time I've gone!! I'm definitely in for next year. Its great to see the kids out there.
Curt, I know how proud you are of Cade. You're doing a great job, because he's a fine young man and a heck of a shot. One thing that stands out is you and Cade shooting at the vole or shrew, what ever it was....I think Cade hit it in the hind leg and slowed it down for you. :thumbsup:
Pete, Peter's also a great kid. I was standing next to him on the first watch. He was letting arrows fly!! it was awesome to say the least. I tied up his vest for him so it'd be out of his way.
Its also a great time to talk to guys like Terry Receveur, the guys been there and done that. Hes always a pleasure to talk to.
Big Ed, you're OK too!!
Anyway, If you guys reading this are kicking around coming next year, do it, its well worth it. Shawn and Cindy bust their @$$'$ putting these things together!

Sorry I couldn't make it this year Shawn. The snowstorm the week before kind of messed up some plans. I am glad I made it to the warm up hunt. It sure would have been nice to see everyone. I am sure I will see you before that. Maybe we can do some bowfishing with Guru 1 and 2.

I gotta hand it to you guys... Getting those bunnies out of the thorn cover is not for the sissy type... When we went in to that "new spot" then came around Briar Back, I mixed with the wild rose cover and am very happy I had pruners with me... Went extra slow, not wanting to destroy my glasses... Didn't get any battle scars on my face, but my hands took a beating...
I can see how a bow needs to be "thrown over there" to get outa that stuff... Kinda glad I'm a short fella... Helps a bit in the thick... Anyway, I had such a good time and it's all because of you guys! Love you one and all!

That push was brutal, Ed was within 30 yards of me and I could not see him in the thick. I saw 4 bunnies on that push and never got a shot. We need more guys to push the new spot, so maybe next year we will have enough!! It was around -3 with the windchill and we were still sweating!! Great pics. I am heading down towards Curt tomorrow and getting our donation doubled. I donated $100 to the firehouse so everyone knows. They had two bad fires this week, one on Sunday while we were hunting and another where a life was lost on Weds. night. I figured those guys deserved a good donation, as they always give us whatever we need for the hunt!! I know we have a few more stories coming and I will also let everyone know how we made out with the final total for St. Judes!! OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

What a blast and I wish I was there. Several of us Tradgang members (reddogge, droptine59, raineman and son, migrabill, sharper) did a bunny hunt last weekend on the Eastern Shore of MD. We jumped 23, hit 3, killed 2. Good day. It was just about a 4 hour hunt.

Just got home and all I can say is OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! We went down with 2150 dollars and our amount was matched!! WRWD 107.3 holds an annual fundraiser for St. Judes and after speaking to several people and the event co-ordinator, we ended up getting the money we donated matched!!! We ended up donating $4300 for the kids of St. Judes in my Moms name, but I made sure the hunt was mentioned and a shout out to Trad-Gang as well. Cindy and I want to thank everyone who attended and donated to our raffle. Next year we want to raise $10,000 and get that doubled to $20,000 how sweet would that be?!!! So everyone start planning for the 3rd. weekend Feb. 2014 and make that hunt are biggest and best ever!! I am going to add to the title of this thread our final amount!! Lets keep this going a bit so we get the word out about next years huntand how good all you folks did! Make sure ya mention the great prizes we all seemed to win some of at our raffle!! I also want to Thank Terry Green and all the moderators of this great site, this all would of never gotten started if it weren't for these folks!! Thanks again!! Ed, I am working on that bow re-finish as we speak!! I figure I would give it a ago myself. I won the Harold Couch LB with 2 sets of limbs at our raffle and I plan on trying to take a spring turkey with it. Maybe Curt(Guru) and his right hand man Cade(Guru11) will invite me down to turkey hunt this year!! :bigsmyl: Hopefully for next year we have enough guys to push the new spots and I also have permission to hunt the greenhouse again, spoke to the landowner this morning!! The idea of doubling the $$ came from a conversation that Gary K. and I had a while back....but this year is the first time it actually worked out.....just wish we could have gotten Shawn in the radio for a minute.
