I am doing my first one now. I skinned it clean and put it in a pickle with formic acid and salt. I will take it out, nuetralize it to a pH of 5 or so, then oil it with liquitan. This is how I do all my hides so I hope it turns out!

I did rehidrate it in water before the pickle

I believe Krista Holbrook did a how to article in Traditional Bowhunter magazine not too long ago. Not positive which issue.

You might need to get a hand skive from tandy leather or make a leather spliter to get it thin also

Thanks, is there any how to videos or sections done in the past on this site?
