I think this is the best looking bow Roman has built to date. (Mine's not quite finished yet :bigsmyl: )

Best looking wood that can be used in a bow IMO. Very nice.
-
Beautiful bow sir! What are the specs?

Very nice
-
Are you kidding me!!!!
Amazing!
-
As the PROUD owner of that bow and the person who came up with the idea of making a bobcat look like a bobcat with some dalmation ebony....I could not be more impressed with Romans work. This bow is an amazing little bow. Very smooth to my 30" draw, nice and quiet, and it is pretty darn fast!!
Kenny - thanks for putting the pics up for me and for all your help in making this bow happen!
Mike

Sweet !!!!! I would like to try one of these...

Beautiful bow!!
Would love to see this bow in person. Owning a couple of Roman's bows I know that pictures never do them justice.
I have a Bobcat and feel it's a tremendous shooting bow.
Congratulations PAMike!
-
Happy to do both for you Mike. It was fun seeing it all come together. The B&W Ebony is alot of work to get to usable condition, but it's well worth it.
Lanier, I have a try before you buy program. Call me. 330-730-6478

Better not lean that one up against a tree and walk off unless you have some brightly fletched arrows attached to it.
That is truly stunning!!!! WOW!!!!

For those interested i highly recommend the try before buy program with Kenny...that is how it all started for me (an a friend of mine who happened to be there when i go the test bow) We both went on the list immediately after shooting the test bow!

I have never been a fan of rear mounted limb bows but that bow is FRIGGIN SWEET MAN!!
-
:notworthy:
Beautiful work sir!
-
Very pretty chunk of wood ..
-
Nicely executed, great woods & design.

Longbow917,
I was the same way. He has been building a Wildcat, rear mounted limb bow for a number of years. I thought it was ugly to be honest. I got him to make a few changes to it but still never liked it.
Forward to the end of 2011 some time. This fella named Matt, teamfudd, on here, started bending Roman's ear. He and I together talked Roman into making a shorter riser, putting a little more bend in the riser, and thus Roman built what I think is the PERFECT bow, The BOBCAT. Although I love the way the longbow shoots and performs, I love the curves of a recurve even better.
There will be a thread coming soon with my Bobcat Recurve!!

Cheers from the Westcoast of Canada.

  WOW, WHAT A LOOKER
-
That's a neat looking bow you've got there. I'd be afraid to drop it in the woods-you might not be able to find it again with camouflage effects like that!!
-
took awhile to find dalmatian ebony but worth the wait!
-
It looks even better in person. GORGOUS!!!

OH MY! Perfect 10.

Good looking riser bro.... Boy you said a mouth full on working with B&W ebony. I've been trying to coax the MC level down on some for a couple months now by milling it and air drying it in taped bundles in the house.... You definitely need the patience of Job to work with this stuff.
Once again.... Beautiful work there brutha...
-
Kirk, I got alot of help from Big Jim on how to dry it. His method helped alot.
-
In a word- superb.
-
WOW!!

Gorgeous!!!
Kingsnake

I was going to order a camo one. Now I have to stop and think about it.
-
Natural camo...i love it. Nothing like a well crafted piece of wood in the hand.
-

As nice as they get!

Bowyers may not like it but it is becoming my favorite wood!
Thanks for comments

Mike problem is thst no matter how much care you take building it, No matter how much you warn the guys ,it generally checks 6 months to a year after its built and it also seperates along glass and phenolic stripes. They always want to know if you can fix it and the answer is always yes and at the time and expense of completely refinishing the risers.
so far with mine its like a 90 percent thing; That makes it not worth doing to me and to many other bowyers. Besides that you get the stuff and its supposed to be dry and isn't, a lot of times you cannot even get a decent riser out of it ect. Thats how its been in my experience with Dalmation, black and White and Gabon ebony. Macassar not so bad but still some.
I will grant you it does make one fantastic looking bow though.
God bless you all, Steve
-
Best looking ebony I have ever seen bar none!!!
-
steve - now you scared me! maybe i will have to reconsider this being my favorite wood......BTW you told that before didnt you......
-
Yes, I would imagine that the bowyer of Hill Country knows more about how to work with it than I do though. I can honestly say that I have never seen a bow built with it that I didn't think was outrageously nice.
God bless you all, Steve
-
This is still one of the best looking bows I have seen. Very well done Roman! Hill Country Bows are top notch!

Congrats on one of the sweetest pieces of sculpted nature I have ever seen!
-
whats dalmation ebony? reminds me of spalted maple or figured olive..
-
That really is stunning. I'd like to try one of those bows someday.
-
Jon
you should give them a try - less than half the price of a VK, but very similar feel and performance. Plus roman will get you some nices woods if asked.
mike
-
Incredible! That will make for some nice natural camo.
-
I will have to post some pics. Just got my Bobcat and shot it for the first time yesterday and I could not be happier. Fit and finish is excellent. That little bow really spits out an arrow. Great grip. It came with only about 1/2 of a catwisker for silencers and I know why after shooting it. It doesn't need full whiskers cause it is so quiet. Points extremely well. Love the design with the belly mounted limbs. This bow is a winner.
-
Very nice indeed!! Enjoy your new bow.
-
Great to see more people are finding out about these bows. hard to believe they can perform that well and be only 56" long. Looking forward to the treestand!!
-
I just did the try before you buy on one of these bows. It really is a good shooter! I'm ordering a K-2 instead, I think I want a longer bow. But the Bobcat does shoot really well.
-
You'll be hard pressed to find a better shooting bow than a K-2!
-
WOWSER!!!
:scared: :scared: :scared:
That wood really has some character!
Enjoy!
Shoot straight, Shinken
