Hi, I have a new set-up. Its a 62" hybred longbow, 50lbs @ my 30 draw, arrows are goldtip GT 55/75 with 50 grain brass inserts and 175 gr tips. I was going to shoot Zepher sasquatch's, but after shooting them in practice i'm not to overly impressed with there ability to hold up. I've shot them into a few hard spots in my targets and they explode.....wondering what they'll do when they hit bone ? I really liked the cutting width of the head, I'm thinking wider is better ? Anybody have any suggestions for a wider 175 grain head ? I'm all ears

Not extra wide but a VPA 2-blade is TUFF!

I was thinking about the VPA,I think they are 1 1/16 or an 1 1/8 wide, It would seem to me that a wider head would give you a better blood trail....not trying to get into a debate, just my experience from past, anybody have a feeling one way or the other on this ? I could really use some advise...Sniper

X2 on the Simmons.

hanks for the ideas, I think I'm leaning towards the simmons. Am I right on the wider cutting better bloodtrail ? The only downfall I see is maybe less penetration ? sniper

We also have a VPA Custom Shop 175 3 blade that is 1 1/4" cut. Its part of a new Custom Shop line based on the profile of the 1 1/8" 150 3 blade in our regular line up.

I was gonna say x2 on the Ace Super Express, but then remembered you are going to have an insert in there as well. A Zwickey Delta or a Magnus I with the insert will be real close to 175 and plenty wide.

Magnus 1 135gr plus 43gr insert adapter

Steel Force Hellfire 4 blade 150gr. They fly truly nice for me and they are truly one tough broadhead for the money. You can buy on 3Rivers website. :archer2:
