This heat is brutal but I need to get out and do some yard work. Two hours later, tired, drenched in sweat, decided to continue drawing back my 55# Longbow.
Doc sez I should be fine by late Sept...not good enough for me. Hit the shop and fired off 10 arrows with absolutely no pain. Life is shaping up for this coming fall....

That's great !!

I wouldn't push it, those doctors know more than we credit them for sometimes. My Buddy will have to go through ANOTHER operation soon because he started pushing his knee too early.
-
Good luck!, heal up quick!!
-
just slow down and you will be better, do not rush it
You just posted so we would drool over your shop, bowrack and racks and such. Now slow down, turbo, and at least try to follow doc's orders.
-
I thought this was going to be a thread about "getting closer" to game! With pics no less!
Really though, glad you're feeling better but like others have said. Slow down, take it easy, be careful!
-
Good for you Joe. But, as stated above I would not push it.
-
Good for you Joe....don't get to cocky.......Take your time and work at it slow! You don't want to do this twice!!
-
Great to hear Joe. Congrats on your recovery.
-
Good luck Joe.
-
Alright! good to hear that things are moving right along! :clapper: :clapper:
-
Take it easy Joe dont wanna rush yourself and blow your fall! :D Glad to see your shooting though no man should have to sit deer season out :wavey:
-
Looking GOOD, Skipper!!!!!
-
-
I can't add anymore than whats already been said so, good luck, stay safe and shoot straight!
-
Good deal Joe. Like others above, I wouldn't hurry things.
A knee operation and therapy taught me that!
Hope you keep improving, Skychief.
-
Go get 'em Joe! Slow but sure. Killed a little buck 9 1/2 weeks after quadruple bypass. You' ll get there, I'm sure of it. You are one of the real ones......best of luck
-
Nice form Joe, but I wouldn't rush it either, when your resting and sitting around, take the magnets off the fridge and put them on the area, that will help heal it faster, and fresh pineapple is good for the scar.
-
Take your time Joe. Glad your on the mend.RC
-
Looking good Joe, you'll be fine for the season.
-
Glad you're doing better.
I think there's some good advice posted here.
Did have to do a double take on your pic.
..lol..thought you were trying to shoot a "robined" arrow..lol
-
Glad you're healing up :)
-
ALL GOOD ADVICE! :readit: :saywhat:
-
Take it slow you don't want to be nurcing it for opening day.
-
That's great news Joe
Just remember the damage to connective tissue, ect isn't often immediate, go slow and get yourself some DR. Wallack's gluco gel!
Feed your body what it needs to repair it self is the best advice I can offer. May you restore 100%
-
That's great. Glad you're recuperating well. God bless.
-
Appreciate all the comments. I do take it easy but I push myself. I know when to stop when performing certain exercises and know when to add a few more reps.
I limit myself to 2x a week pulling the bow and shooting it. Shooting lefty is no problem at all but I know my limit right now is 10 arrows right handed. Being athletic my entire life it's hard to accept I'll be 61 next month. My body reminds me on a daily basis.
-
Good to hear Joe! I love the grip on your Kempf Trophy Hunter too.
-
61 next month??? Then who is that handsome young lad in your avatar? :dunno:
Seriously, glad to hear you're improving but dang it Joe... be careful! I'm sure you must have a 45 lb bow?
