http://i42.tinypic.com/2mzxpaa.jpg Pictured is a Big Jim's Desert Bighorn recurve which I puchased at Denton Hill. The limbs are Bocote and the riser is East Indian Rosewood and Bocote. The specs are 52#@28" draw weight and 60" length.I went to Denton with no plan of purchasing or trading for a new bow. Well, this one caught my eye so I had to shoot it and wow did it shoot good. I told Jim I would be back in a few hours to try it again to see how I did. Once again it shot great groups for me. Jim ended up giving me great value for my trade, actually what I had paid for it several years ago so I had to get it. The attached picture shows an average group when I do my part from 20 yards. The bow is a work of art in fit and finish, smooth to draw, and fast and accurate. If you get a chance, do yourself a favor and try one of these out, you won't be disappointed.

That bow felt good in hand. I bet its a great shooter!
-
It is Cyclic, I made the mistake of shooting it and the rest is history.

(http://i40.tinypic.com/29prbt1.jpg) Test picure to see if i've figured this thing out. Hope it works.

Gorgeous!! Glad to see she shoots as good as she looks!

I bought one from him in Feb. Great bow. The grip is amazing.
I'm not a speed freak but I think he may have come up with one of the fastest recurves out there. It is as fast if not faster than any bow I've ever owned.
-
That is one beautiful bow, congrats Jeff
-
Can that riser accomadate long bow limbs?
-
I have no idea if it can take longbow limbs, Big Jim could answer that. He's a great guy who's very responsive to any questions you may have. I'd email him or call. Big Jim's Bow Company 812 Morgan Ct. Albany, GA 31705 229-420-5669 Ofc. (8am-5pm EST)
You may send an email to: [email protected]

Thanks Jim, I told Brett that I want to shoot your Thunder Child the next time you are up this way and I hope that is soon.
-
I agree with you OBXarcher, I couldn't believe how fast it shot. At 52# it seemed to me to be faster than heavier bows which I have owned.
-
(http://i39.tinypic.com/wlr6rt.jpg) Shawn, here is the unstrung photo.
-
(http://i42.tinypic.com/21loarb.jpg) Pamike, here is a closeup side picture of the top limb, let me know if you wanted something different.
-
Almost looks like a static limb. Is it as quiet as his longbows?

Almost looks like a static limb. Is it as quiet as his longbows?
-
pamike, I haven't yet shot his longbows however I can say that it is extremely quiet and shock free.

Looks great - definitely one to try. With the right woods I think he could give it some mass. One more to the list!
-
great looking bow
-
I would imagine he could provide some more mass with the right woods. Mine feels light to me but until I got Big Jim's bow I had been shooting a Black Widow PMAV which definitely had some mass weight to it. Thanks to everyone for all of the compliments.
-
SWEEEET looking bow Jeff  Love the woods :D
-
Thanks for the compliments guys and I'm glad your enjoying your bow Jeff.
Yes this bow could be made to be quite heavy. My personal bow has a riser made of Black and white ebony and asian ironwood. It is very heavy...not what I was trying to achieve as I'm not personnaly in to heavy mass weight bows, the added mass is just a by product of some very beautiful and dense woods.

Jim sounds like your riser would be perfect for me then!!!! Love BW ebony and heavy mass...... Limbs would have to be changed cause you probably pull 20#'s more than me!!!!
