Title: Small Food Plotts and Tillers.

Does anyone use a tiller for their food plotts?

Back in the old days I took my 5hp front tine tiller into isolated small food plots to till them up. I would start the engine and let it walk itself in to the plot. To say using my tiller one these rough ground plots was a chore is an understatement.

Next I bought a plow called at the time a "Danco Mini Cultivator" to pull behind my 4 wheeler. This thing would plow up a gravel road it worked so well. The plot had to be mowed off pretty low or the tines of the plow would roll up the plant debris like a bale of hay and stop the plowing operation.

My next move was to buy a small Kubota tractor with a 52" tiller. Needless to say, this combination works well on plots up to 1/2 acre. I wouldn't want to till a much larger spot with it as it moves slow and takes several passes.
