I got one and there's 1200 leftovers for my area. Leftovers go on sale Sept. 10 at 10am.

Ugh, once again didn't draw one for public land near our bow camp. Out of 9 bowhunters so far in a 1/3 chance drawing, none of us drew. Pretty lucky eh?

Thanks for the reminder. I just checked and wooohooo....better make some room in the freezer!

Gvan,
Where do you guys go? There's still available public land tags in a fair amount of "up north" locations.
You should consider Beaver Island. They are in year two of the 3pt antler rule and still have a couple hundred public land tags left. There should be a good number of basket 8pt's around.
Check out the map of all the public land...

If I could only hunt public land and had no access to private land, Beaver Island is where I'd plan my bow camp time off.
Here's the ferry schedule...

Got a Mason county private land.
-
Got a Wexford county private land permit.

Both my wife and I drew Mason Co PUBLIC!! I tried last year unsuccessfully, my wife is fully recouped from giving birth and is ready to hit the stand this year. Got me a couple eastern county deer funnels that'll fill the freezer this year!

GV,
We gotta plan a day that you can swing by my place and we can shoot some bows and shoot some rifles. My property is by Bitely. I'm actually heading up tomorrow morning to build some natural cover ground bow blinds and shoot a new .260 I just picked up.
If anything, come on over for a turkey hunt next spring. Lots of birds at my place.

My pass days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays...Salmon season is also by busy season at work. The family and I are in Branch right now but we've been impatiently waiting on a short-sale back home up by Brethren.
Salmon have already started running and Tippy has been rocking with the salmon crowd so free time is at a prime right now. That crowd is keeping me on my toes.

Sure wish i was up there bud. I miss the salmon run with a fly rod. Bear creek and the little Manistee are always fun when you can get away from the crowds.

Congrats! I was denied for that same area. Was a quota ever published on how many public land antlerless permits were available for Mason County?
I'm thinking opening day of gun season will be VERY quite on public land with 3 pts/side and limited antlerless permits.

The second link in the first post showed the availability, number of applicants, and number of leftover if available. Mason Co still has 1600 private land leftover.
