Game cam pic taken in CO. What do you think, lion or bobcat? Date is wrong, pic was taken 9/16/13.

One of reasons I am asking is a friend came in with the pic and thinks it is an immature mountain lion. I say bobcat. We have a friendly wager. You guys are deciding.

You win that one Bill. Those ears give it away. Bobcat.
-
I say bobcat too... ears and looks like side burns too...
-
bobcat. ears and the smaller stature of the animal make me think bobcat.
-
for sure a bobcat. I catch them in my coyote traps and have to release them. So i am up close and personal with them every once in a while.
-
It's definitely a bobcat.Neat picture.

You win the bet. No doubt bobcat.

Bobcat without doubt. Saw one just like that a month ago while shooting at our range.

Bobcat...
The white/grey ear patches with a stark contrast to the black tips give it away.
A juvenile mtn. lion has similar patches, but they are tan/light brown and the trend to black ear tips is waay more subtle.
So... What you gonna' win in this little bet of yours?

Bobcat

Nobody voted Lynx. They too have white on the back of the ears. Kind of tough to see in this pic if the signature tuft of hairs extends from the ear tips. Just a thought.
-
Bob cat.
