Has anyone every tried hunting geese before with a recurve? Can you get away with target points using Adders with them or broad heads??? Open to any suggestions. Thanks

No reason you couldn't, for sure use broadheads you wouldn't goafter turkey with a target point. Geese are tough birds and you don't want geese flying off with your arrows. Also looks pretty bad for the sport having game running around with arrows stuck in them.

I have Pearson Deadheads set up on my flu flu's to use for geese. I haven't had a chance to go yet but that's what I'm going to take. If I don't have a deadhead on them the others have razorheads.

Broadheads for sure....even then I use a shotgunner for backup! Geese are the toughest bird out there!

Broadheads and either 3 or 4 fletch flu flus, not spiral. You need some energy at 30 yards to penetrate heavy feathers and bodies.

Broadheads for sure! I have hunted turkeys and pheasants with my bow and broadheads are definitely best! I sure would love to goose hunt with my bow , though!

I haven't specifically gone out JUST goose hunting with mine, but have/will take shots when given the opportunity. DEFINITELY use broadheads!
One time I tried stalking up on some ponds to shoot the ducks that were there, but didn't work out. On my way back to the Jeep, I ran in to the game warden. He looked at me and my longbow and said, "Are you trying to duck hunt with a bow?!?" I said, "Yessir, I surely am." He just laughed and said, "Good luck!" He never asked to see my license, duck stamp or anything! Cracked me up! :laughing:

I've had no problem killing geese with Ace Hex head blunts. When using a dog, NEVER use a broadhead. Got to think safety of your hunting partner. Aim small, miss small. Aim for the head. It's either a direct hit, or complete miss. You will be amazed how the eye of a goose can be focused on.

Nope. Some days are just OK, others you can pick fly crap out of pepper.
First 3 geese I ever shot were on the fly with an ace hex head blunt to the head/neck. It was one of those fly crap out of pepper days.
