As many of you know, We are now the owners of Kent Tinney's (Wapiti) Original Coups Cap design.
We are very happy to have this great little Cap in our line up. We are now ready to make them available to you.
I just listed our current stock on the website, and we plan to have plenty at the Kalamazoo Expo in a few weeks. Maybe a few surprises there as well.
As we progress, we will offer more color options as well as different fabric patterns and material.
We have available now, The Original Coups Cap in sizes Medium and Large. In the near future we will offer a child's size and we will also be making an XL size.
Thank you to Kent and his Wife. We wish them well in the new home and good health as a result of the move.

well, these caps seal the deal...no doubt I am going to try to meet you in Kalamazoo.
-
That cap looks great Chuck, but the model's been in the woods too long. Maybe I'll copy that pic and put it in the henhouse to scare away the critters!
:scared:
-
I disagree Kenny, I've been known to spook a critter or two, but I have not been in the woods to long. That is not possible.
-
What sizes do the caps fit? Medium= ? Large=?
Thanks, bretto
-
Dang Chuck! Its only been a few months and you look like a mountain man already!
-
How long before the XL will be available?
-
Chuck are they lined inside and will you be producing a wool version of the cap?
-
Bretto, We are still working on getting a Standard sizing for the Caps. They are very forgiving to size though. The fleece has good stretch and will be fine for several size heads.
I wear a 7 5/8" hat and the Lg. is fine for me but it is stretched to fit.
Right now I would say the Mediums will cover 7"-7.5" and the Lg. will be 7.5"+
XL is big I would guess 7 7/8" on up.
Pearlie, THANKS! that's what I'm going for. See you at the Zoo?
Danny, I will have some in the next batch which I hope to be starting real soon. We are burning the midnight oil getting the Coups Caps going and also getting ready for Kzoo.
What colors strikes your fancy?
BLM, The Cap is not lined. We finish all of the seams on the inside and they are really nice as is. We have ideas for a reversible Cap but that will be later.
Look at my post up above for the wool version. We are also looking into a blanket type material for the wool Cap.
Thank you.

-
Chuck, I'll see you at K'zoo for a cap and to talk about an Ambush.
Ron
-
See you there Ron.

If I was to send you some camo wool I have, would you be willing to do a special order?

Chuck may want to gear up for this...I see it being a popular option. :D
-
I will be watching for the brown camo wool model, thanks.
-
Wish I could make to the zoo I am planning for next year so I guess I need to order one they look great Chuck!!!
-
Good stuff right there Chuck - Very cool
-
Chuck-
Nice looking lids. Look's like a well thought out design. Can't wait to see you at the show. Bringing my boys Gabe and Brennen, it will be our first one. Their gonna love the mountain man look.
By the way I love that Hackberry Turkey Call sitting pretty behind that hat in the above picture.
take care
-Mark
-
Chuck,
I see the wool version on your mugshot but I don't see it on the website. Did I miss the secret handshake?

That's the hat Chuck. Looks great.
PM me some info like price, sizing and availability when you are ready. I'd be interested in a grey camo wool version.
-
Thanks everyone,
Mark, i wondered if you would notice that. Waiting for spring to cackle me up a big Tom with that thing. Look forward to seeing you and the boys.
The Wool Felt caps(and other styles) will be along shortly. We are very busy with orders and getting ready for Kzoo, and of coarse snow/ice equipment keep rearing the ugly head. As soon as we get some finished and a few little details settled, we will add the wool felt Caps to the site and let you know here as well.
The cap is a well thought out design. Kent did a good job with it. Having designed a few products, I can tell you that "it aint as easy as it looks" Any good product is made up of many small details that make them work/look/preform like they should.
We like to offer the best we can, so sometimes it takes time.
Thanks again guys

Bob(MojoStick).
I wanted to answer you question as well.
Not all fabric is suitable for making a hat. I will need to try other materials to see what we can make work, and we can go from there. You are welcome to bring your material to the Expo and we can talk about it. If it works for a hat, I will be happy to do it for you. See you there Bob.

Like the look for the modeling job. You cleaning up for Kzoo? :saywhat: Like it. See ya there.
-
The Brave Never Shave Smoke.
See ya,
-
Got me a camo one on order, picking it up in Kzoo. Those of you who are wanting a hat that in my opinion is much better than a Stormy Crommer, you had best get in line for one of Chuck and Chris' creations.
-
I just ordered a black one. As busy as Chuck is he still took the time to talk and answer a few other questions I had about his wool. Great great customer service !!!!
Will be doing more business with TwoTracks for sure
Thanks Chuck i will be getting a vest from you ASAP!!
-
Cool, I'll bring it. It's Silent Predator camo wool. Since SP didn't make any hats, they were nice enough to sell me enough for a couple hats.
-
Hope you would consider a camo with a reversible blaze crown for us guys who have to wear blaze after gun season starts even if we are bowhunting.

Buy two. One of each color.
-
Duncan, We are talking about that very thing. a double layer with a different color inside. as I said before, we have a few ideas for the future. We just need time to work them out.
Or you can get one of each color. :)
-
Wow, Chuck. Nice beard! That might provoke Lobo LaClair to jealousy.
-
Do you sell a two tracks t-shirt? I'm kind of a trad archery t-**** junkie and your logo would look nice on me!
-
One of his wool coup caps would match that new asbell hoodie you have too, Mike!!!
-
I guess I misspelled t-shirt! Sorry!
-
I got mine from Kent a few years back and it was stolen....by my Grandson! He loves it...it's a neat early season hat and that wool looks perfect for colder weather.
-
I think you are right Joe. The fleece is really nice, but when the weather was real bad, I liked the Felted Wool version.
Do to last weeks storm, our mail was delayed getting some labels to us so we are just know finishing up the latest batch of the Fleece Coups Caps.
additionally, my wife is dealing with a machine that wants to give her some problems, so the wool Caps are also waiting to be finished. As soon as she gives me the green light, I will post all of the information about the wool Caps to our site and here on TradGang.
Thank you all for your patience.
Chuck and Chris.
-
Just got mine ordered! :jumper:
I think my biggest challenge will be keeping it away from Tracy!
Bill
-
I'm on it Bill. Should be fun eh?
Some have asked about the inside and if it is lined or not. We do not line the Coups Cap but we have gone a few extra steps to ensure that it as "finished" as we can make it. This also gives a very strong seam that will never rip out. I have some quick pictures to show the inside and out side seams. The Cap in the pictures is in Autumn Orange.
Also I will show you a special order Cap that will be used as a piece of safety gear for a friend while he is on the job.
An outside seam. This is what shows.

A couple of inside seams. What we don't see.

I have also listed some Small Sized hats to the site. The smalls are available in most colors and are noted in the hats description.
Small should fit a head that measure about 21" just above the ears. Numeric size will be about a 6 1/2 - 6 3/4
The Fleece is stretchy and will cover a wide range of sizes and remain comfortable on the head.
Please be sure to indicate size in the comment section when ordering.
Thank You,
Chuck

Due to the crazy weather that we have had over the past two weeks, I was forced to wait a few days to get all of my Caps assembled fully and in the mail. I didn't anticipate the slight delay and I apologize for any inconvenience.
As of today, All Orders have been shipped.
Thank you all,
CTT

Hey, its Bigfoot! We found him. I want my million dollars!
-
"Can't take it off" You need a bigger size :knothead:
-
Thanks Gary, Glad it fits and keeps you warm.
We do have some smaller hats made right now.
They fit my daughter who just turned 11.
I also will have some smaller ones in the near future, but probably not in time for the Expo.
Thanks again, looks good on ya.

-
Funny Keith I get you back at ETAR
-
Nice to see these caps still around....they also make a great 'base' for a winter gillie hat. ;)
-
I'll take the grey and brown one pictured above-as it will fit perfectly in NV deseert terrain.
-
Terry, We are working on it :)
Roadkill, that is the felted wool version that will be available soon. It will probably be added to the website after the Expo next weekend.
Stay tuned for size/color/price details later.
They are a great bow hunting Cap, in fleece or wool.
-
Well we have a pretty decent pile of Fleece Coups Caps ready for the Trad Expo in Kalamazoo this coming weekend.
We will also have some other hat styles to debut,
Please stop by and introduce yourself and see what we have.
See ya at the show.

Just got mine in the mail a few days ago and they are a great cap...light, packable, versatile, comfortable, and warm...you just can't go wrong.
I'm looking forward to my camo one:)
Way to keep a good thing going Chuck !
-
Thanks Jake,
We will get after your Camo version ASAP.

Chuck;
Mark me down for one of the felted wool caps when they are available. I'll also order a camo version. I already have an orange and green original that I got a couple of years ago but my son borrowed the orange one this year and I don't think I'm getting it back without a struggle.
-
We have Camo and Orange in stock Jamie.
The felted wool versions are coming soon.

Just got my fleece hat today.
AWESOME HAT!
Bill is the perfect length and material.
Bends down very easily with the string and doesn't block your eyes.
..but it's still long enough to do its job blocking the sun.
The fleece is sorta lightweight which will be great for "warmer" days when I still want a hat with a bill to block the sun, but don't want to overheat.
The material seems very good quality though.
Fleece can be surprisingly warm....I just might be surprised how warm it is.
...and because it's thin I can put my normal winter watch cap type hat right over it with no problems or undo stretching when things turn cold if needed.
Of course he does have the wool version for the cold weather too.
Thinking of getting one of those for sure. If I can double layer on top of that I'd be ready for the coldest cold weather for sure...lol
I got mine in large after looking at his sizing recommendations.
The hat was right in spec of what the website said.
Mine is in the digital camo color.
The color is great.
I was worried at 1st..the color sample on the web page looked to me like a perforated material...kinda like a football jersey.
NO HOLES..lol What looked like holes to me are just some black spots in the camo pattern.
...which I just noticed can be confirmed by clicking the pic on the website to see the magnified view.
Awesome color pattern!
The hat looks to be very well constructed/stitched.
Making a good visored bow hunting hat is quite the balancing act.
...I think Charles could walk a tightrope with his eyes closed.

Hey Chuck. I'll have to grab one of those at the Expo this year. What a great design and wool to boot. And by the way. I've been hitting the woods pretty hard lately with my faithful Echo in hand. It remains my go to bow.
-
I wear my cap everyday now that it is getting cooler, so light weight yet so warm . Now if you would just start making balaclavas for that real cold weather !!!
-
Best hunting cap I ever used. And a great value as well
-
Great hunting cap. I have the fleece, and love it. We haven't even had a cold snap down here. I'm waiting for the first one so I can get it out and wear it.
-
The wool vest are great also, thick and warm.

When Roger Norris saw how good it looked on me he got one for himself, now he says he's better lookin than me. Maybe he is but my cap looks as good as his... :)
