Alright, so now the Buffalo has been out about 3-1/2 years. Is everyone still as happy or have issues popped up? Is this bow produced today the same or has Hoyt made changes to save cost?
I will be getting a new bow soon and need to decide if I will get a new recurve or a Hoyt Charger compound (my 34 year old PSE compound will be decommissioned completely).
I realize the recommendations on this forum will be to go traditional, but I already have a Dorado with 40 and 45# limbs. I'm interested to know if the Buffalo is a big enough difference to warrant going that route and if owners are still as happy with it.

I'm still happy with mine and bought it used about 3 years ago. It's just one of several bows I shoot but always is a good shooter. Pointability and shooting off the shelf so close to my hand make is a great hunting bow.
The big knock on them is they aren't ILF, big whoop. I was able to buy a second set of limbs for $250 and if I wanted a premium limb equal to the premium ILF limbs I'd buy Hoyt F4s or F7s.

I agree with everything reddogge said! Best shooting bow I have in my stable, took it crow hunting this morning! I have had a couple Dorados and I personally feel the buffalo shoots better. The shelf setup is just great. Good luck! Where in NC are you?

I still have mine and think it is a great shooting bow.I like the narrow handle, the adjustability and accuracy I get.It is an excellent bow in my opinion!

They are great bows and you can pick up one used at a fair price. I doubled with a buffalo one October evening during the 2013 season.

It's a rarity for me to have kept a bow around this long (besides my Windauer Schafers of course :) ) but the Buffalo still resides in the line up. It's smooth, quick and will digest a variety of arrow/head combo's I choose to run through it.
A "keeper" in my book!

Seems all the reviews are still positive. Can anyone comment on the Buffalo vs the Dorado? Is it a big step up and why?

I'm usually found in the Raleigh area, but also find myself in Thomasville about once a week.

I currently have the Dorado & GM2's, sold my Buff. I really didn't find any appreciable difference in the performance or shooting characteristics of Dorado vrs. Buffalo.
However, the conversion to ILF is a quiet simple process with the Dorado or GM2; so to me they are preferred. The grips are really nice on all three if you prefer a smaller sized one. It helps me to not torque the bow as much, lessening shooting flaws.

I could tell a big difference between the buff and the dorado. I have a 30" draw. And the dorado really stacked for me. I currently own two buffs and have a pair of f7's as well

I like the buffalo I had for about a year. Never had an issue with the bow and I felt like it was a good shooter. I wanted to get something lighter so I went with a semi-custom 1 piece longbow. I would get back into a buffalo if I were to find one for a great deal, however.

I still love mine and my only hunting bow now. In fact I ordered another 1 for back up and just got my new X-Short limbs in and setup and shooting as well. Shorter limbs were my main "want" with this setup and now I have them and don't see changing anytime soon.
Much, much better bow then the Dorado or which I have 2 of those as well, they are my bowfishing bows now! Also have a Gamemaster and it does bowfishing duty as well. Buffalo is for hunting for me!
