Title: Strange Dream!
Post by: Echo62 on April 07, 2014, 02:03:00 PM
Anybody ever had this one? Out of a ground blind I take a 15 yard shot at a big doe, hits her dead on the money and bounces off like the arrow was made of rubber! Doe looks my way real smug like and walks away. Comical and disturbing at the same time.

Haha, never had that one, but I did dream that I had a hog stand broadside at 15 yrds and I shot every arrow I had at it and couldn't hit it!  Oh, I promise it was just a dream!! Lol

Haven't had that one.  But I have had recurring dreams about I draw my bow and release, and the arrow doesn't go anywhere.  I guess it is the same net result of your dream!

I would say all three of you have arrow confidence issues and need heavier arrows.    :biglaugh:

Andrew, you may have a point!    :biglaugh:   Sounds Freudian.

Freudian or not, I shot a bag target at the local trad shop and the arrow bounced at least 5 yards back toward me. The day that happens on a deer, I'm putting down my bow!

Your dreams are really you whispering in your own ear.  I've had many hunting scenario dreams where I take a shot and the arrow never makes the kill.
My thoughts on your dream is your unconscious is telling you that you shouldn't have eaten that bean burrito before going to bed.

Have had numerous bowhunting dreams.

Only had one that impacted me. Was seriously planning a brown bear hunt. Had three different  vivid dreams where I would suddenly awaken in a drenching hot sweat. I would always awaken at the point of the bruin being just upon me.

My desire to pursue the browns waned quite quickly.

Keep dreaming!!

I took the largest buck I've ever taken while taking a Sunday afternoon nap in my "lazyboy".

I even did a complete write up about my hunt and it was published as a short story in Traditional Archery magazine.

God bless,Mudd

Actually, don't know how applicable the following renderance is, however would like to share.

Have been knapping on two occasions where I awakened to gobs standing merely yards from my hide. Both gobs met their demise.

Been too wound the past couple of years to be able to take a knap while enduring long sits w/I my hide. Perhaps this season will be different.

I've had numerous dreams about hunting hogs.

One time there were dozens of foam hog targets running by me as I shot as fast as I could. Eventually I just stabbed them with arrows as they zipped past me.

In another dream I was with my friends as I emptied my quiver killing hogs left and right. They kept handing me their arrows and I just kept shooting. Then, suddenly, my buddy turned into Blake Shelton!

I've hunted hogs at our church camp, in my aunt's back yard, and even in town by the post office with the help of a little old lady who was having tea in her front yard!

I've had dreams about huge hogs as big as buffalo that I hid from. Dreams of shooting hogs under water as they ran across the bottom of a pond. And I even dreamed I was driving to hog camp in a an old truck without power steering and couldn't keep up with the rest of the group.

I don't always dream about hogs. I remember one about being in a treestand as monster squirrels, as large as mt lions, were climbing my tree, biting my stand and trying to eat me!

No more Life cereal before bedtime for me!
