Luck has come my way again and I will get to travel to Africa this summer to video a leopard hunt. During the day I can stalk Cape buffalo.
I have a 66" 78# Black Widow PLX set up and Toby from BW reduced one of my other PLXs to match draw weight for a back up bow.
With the hunt coming soon I've been shooting this setup to stay tip top.
Turkey season is open and there isn't a better way to test out your shooting skills than a turkey in my opinion.

Had 3 mature toms and around 10 hens walk by my fence row blind. I took a 20 yard shot at the biggest tom. It hit a little low and broke the drum stick. After a short sprinting match I shot again and claimed this beautiful tom.

Another shot with my favorite hunting partner, Marie.

The bird weighed 24.75#. 1 3/16" spurs and a 10 1/4" beard.

Congrats Denny! That's a fine bird! I think its great Marie likes to get out and hunt and that you two share it together. I also think its great that she shoots big bucks from your tree stand while you are away. Nothing like keeping a seat warm :readit:

For arrows I'm using Easton MFJ 250 dangerous game shafts with 250 grain heads. I used a Woodsman on a 125 grain adaptor for the turkey, but will use a Zwickey, No Mercy for the buffalo hunt.

Man, 78# for turkey? You are really backing down :D
Seriously--beautiful bird and great pics.
Hopefully the sprint recovery makes the "A" reel video footage!
Are those new clodhoppers you are sporting the Lowas that Lathrop and Sons designed? If so, PM me or give me a call will ya buddy?
Good luck on the Cape Buffalo!

Thanks everyone!
Steve, I'll call you today or you can call me anytime buddy.
Whip, I breasted the tom and soaked it in salt water for about 4 hours in the fridge. Then I rinsed it and chunked it into golf ball sized or smaller chunks and marinated over night with soy and worcheshire sauce in fridge.
Drain and dump in crockpot coated with Pam. Add diced onions, roasted garlic and steak seasonings, and 1 small can tomato paste. I cooked it on high for 8 hours and served over mashed potatoes. Side were green beans and edamame. Marie had it on a bun like barbecue and said it was good also.
bon appetit
