Title: Glove question
Post by: 9 Shocks on July 23, 2014, 11:48:00 PM
Is there a glove that has protection that would be between a damascus and american leathers? I have both of these gloves and the damascus was making my fingers hurt and my middle finger was feeling numb.  I bought an american leathers glove and it is pretty thick.  I get a good release but cant feel my face or the string as well.

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,
I had the same trouble with the American leathers glove.  I loved the feel and release but, like you said, I couldn't feel my face and I developed some crazy anchor point problems.  I have since switched to a tab, but the simple neet glove worked pretty well for me prior to the switch.

I am shooting a black widow glove.  $12.00.  It would be in between in thickness.  Also the Neet glove.  It is about the same price.  I have also shot crossover, big shot, damascous, and ones I have made.  It takes a bit of shooting for the black widow to get fitted to your hand, but then it "fits like a glove".

I shoot a Neet glove and like it pretty well, I will be trying a dura-glove here soon as well.

I've been using Alaska Bowhunting's Super Glove. Definitely between the two you mentioned. They have discontinued them, but still have them in stock at a discounted price. I've been using one for over 4 years now and the cordovan is still in good shape. The elastic wrist band broke, but I just sewed a new piece of elastic on and it's still going strong. I shoot both right and left handed and it works well on either side.

I ordered a second one when I heard they were discontinuing them and for $25 bucks or so, I may just order a 3rd for backup. If each of them last at least 5 years, that will put me into my 90's before I run out   :)

Me too - The PDQ glove, they also have a cordovan overlay glove called the Super Glove but that is even thicker. The sizing seems spot on - Large=Large

I went to the farm show and found a tight fitting pair of calf roping gloves. Not too thick or thin. 5 pair for $20.00. I camoflage them with leather dye. I wear them year round and they work great.
