Title: Alaskan Hunt
Post by: Adirondackman on September 11, 2014, 09:15:00 PM
Anyone like to do an Alaskan Moose/Caribou hunt in 2015. Because of personal issues the guy that I planned to hunt with probably can't make it. Cost will be around $5000 flying in from the USA. I plan to hunt an area where Jay  Massey used to hunt. Anyone interested please PM me.

I wish! If I happen to find a $5000 dollar bill laying around, I'll be sure to give you a holler. Otherwise, hope ya have a great trip and make a great new friend in the process!

Make sure you do some research. Just because Jay hunted there doesn't mean there is Caribou there. The caribou patterns have changed a lot since than. Moose are really affected by predator's and hunt pressure. What was once was, might not be there today. May I ask who do you plan to fly out with? I say this because my wife and I went on a really, really expensive camping trip a few years ago. Not that we didn't have a good time but it would have been nice to see at least more than a beaver. We actually were gave the short end of the stick by the air transporter.

I was supposed to be in the exact camp Jay stated right now but my hunt was cancelled.  My understanding is one person holds the lease on the land where the only landing strip is to access the area Jay opperated from...bush pilots will not land there without approval from that person.  There is a person who outfits this area too so you may want to do your homework.

Isn't Yote Robertson running that area now?
