Title: Finally some action
Post by: Homey88 on November 03, 2014, 10:59:00 PM
Haven't had much luck in my first trad season this year.Just started my weeks vacation and haven't seen a deer up to this point. Boy did that change today! Got into the stand a little late this morning but just in time to see a monster buck across the field at quite some distance. As I watched him disappear I noticed some movement to my left and caught a nice 8 point sneaking through the woods. He gave me shot oppotunities at 30 and 27 yds, just a bit outside of my range. The buck was angling to me and would have eventually passed with in 18yds which I feel is my effective range. He suddenly locked up,snorted once and went up the hill into the corn. Seems another hunter was out the ridge from me and spooked the deer. A great encounter none the less! Will be back after them tommorow.

Watched two bucks fighting and chasing a doe this morning for over an hour. It's on!
