I'm looking for information anybody might have on outfitters in the Northwest Territories for a caribou hunt.
-
You might look elsewhere as the NWT has been shut down to caribou hunting for a few years now.

Mike I just found that out with some of the research I've been doing thank you

I have no experience hunting Canada but I was a registered guide in Alaska. You can do a DIY hunt in the lake Clark area with a fair chance of success and save some pennies. Just do a LOT of research about your air taxi.

Thanks Charles that's sort of the direction we're looking at this particular time. The cost in Canada are a lot more than what I anticipated.

Keep us informed on what you find out

There are are a lot of options for DIY caribou in AK. From fully outfitter drop camps to just being dropped off. Like mentioned do a LOT of research on your air taxi or outfitter. If it is your first time doing this you might want to use a hunt planner. PM me and I can give you the names of a couple hunt planners in AK. I do not personally know either of them but I have not heard anything bad about either of them.

I hunted them in Labrador and would do so every year if I could afford it. I killed 2 nice bulls and had a blast hunting them. Not sure what the situation is up there now as I understand caribou herds everywhere are really down in numbers.
