I have a new TallTines on order, hoping if everyone who has a TallTines could post pics of the animals they've taken with it?
Bow arrow and broadhead specs, shot distance etc would be great. Hoping it will help pass the time while I wait for mine to come.
Thanks!

I won't lie Mike real jealous of that buck and beautiful chocolate bear!
-
Thank you! Manitoba Stickflinger is responsible for that bear. As you can see I used a wide variety of arrow setups. I have found my ideal one though:
Trad Only 300 cut to 31 inches, 3 fletched 4 inches, 100 grain brass insert, 100 grain steel insert, 190 gr Meathead. Total arrow weight is 680 grains with 25% FOC.
I love my D shaped longbow from Brian. I own a couple of his hybrids which are awesome but I keep picking up my old longbow. I can't get over how smooth it is and how deadly quiet it is.

Is that a Roosevelt elk Wickles?
Fantastic moose by the way, definitely on my bucket list of hunts.
-
Thanks! Rocky Mountain, shot in NE BC.
-
I bought a new to me tall times this year as well... Hope Brian put a little of that mojo I'm seeing on this thread in mine!
-
Ahh, the moss made me wonder. Great looking bull I really like the dark horns.
-
Excellent pics guys! I'm looking pretty hard at the Tall Tines bows right now. Brians Low wrist grip looks like it would be great for me.
-
You would be pleased my friend! Of course, if you are shooting a Morrison or Schafer already I'd save that money for a hunt :campfire:
-
Anybody else have some they would like to post?

Hopefully I'll have something to post this weekend!! Steve O must not have been at his computer lately!!

Hah...I am sure people get tired of me taking about how great my TTs are... But it is true. They don't want to see my puddly animals anyway.
I know on my safari this summer all 4 hunters brought only TallTines 9000 miles from home; that says a lot
Gene Wensel was one of those four. He and Barry haven't hunted with anything else for a few years now. I m sure guys would rather see their bucks anyway:

I am pretty fond of this one of mine; we don't run into wild pheasants any more in MI but I am fairly certain this one was; I chased him all day before I could get a good flush set up

I believe you are talking about Mike Mitten's book, One With the Wilderness, which by the way is sitting on the table next to my chair. It is a must read for anybody who loves adventure and great story telling.

My best, a nice Manitoba bear taken with a 48# Tall Tines recurve, complete pass through
If I recall correctly a Surewood arrow made by Snag and a 160 grain Stos two blade broadhead. I think the total arrow weight was about 550 to 600 grains

:coffee:
-
Here's the first time my tines connected.
55@30 don't remember the exact arrow combo but I do remember it was a vintage brown razorhead.
-
Ive been trying to view the Tall Tines website for 4-5 days and its been down. Tried both on my phone and computer. Is Bryan working on the web page?
