I want to send My Centaur in to have Jim skin it. Can't decide what kind of skins for it. Any suggestions?

That riser looks awesome! I would find a skin that matches the color of the riser. Possibly diamond dack or cotton mouth.

What color is the glass on the limbs? That could make a difference on how the skin looks.

The limbs are black carbon. This will darken anything put over them?

Jim has mastered doing skins. When he does copperheads he lays down a base layer of I believe copper metallic paint or some such first, then the skin goes on and they REALLY pop. The finished bow looks like a living snake. I think he uses a similar technique with all his skins because just putting them over black glass or carbon can really dull them down. Lastly, the skins are coated in multiple layers of finish to protect them from UV and physical damage.
His prairie rattler skins are quite beautiful as well. I had them on my old Triple Carbon and loved them.

Shed Hunter x3... Riser is sweet, make sure the color is complimentary/matches. Maybe ask Jim, he's quite the artist and does fantastic skin work...

All three skinned by Jim. The first one is Texas Rat Snake and the other two are Water Moccasin. I really like how the orange pops out on the Rat Snake.

Thanks guys who have posted pic's of bows own by me or used to be mine (now Yellow Dog) :goldtooth: .
The Copperheads over Black carbon was my decision to be something different and more subdued, I like it but may not be to everyone's taste.
The Cotton Mouth skin on the last pic by Yellow Dog really compliments that bow and really pops under light.
Both Bows are Cocobola risers but one is a darker richer red where the other is a more reddish brown tone.
I agree in picking skins that contrast and bring out the beauty n the different woods.
Another skin I really like but have not used (yet) is Timber Rattler or Canebrake, a very beautiful skin and unique in it pattern with the chevrons.

John, I really like the copperheads on black carbon. I know Seth was looking at the cane break skins too, either way that bow is going to be stunning with skins.........it already is without them!

It has some really nice pale greens, browns, yellows, and various other colors in it.
Diamondback might look really wild on your bow.

Seth, I'm the one who had Jim build your bow. When I was picking woods and stuff...I was considering the copperheads. I think they would look great over the dark carbon.

Robert, We are talking about Jim Neaves, the man who builds Centaur bows.......Seth, Im glad you like the bow. I have five of Jims creations and have had another built since the one you have now and its a real looker too. Jims bows are fantastic shooters and I havent seen any that are as pretty either. I just prefer his one piece bows.

NW9 I have a take down that looks just like yours done by Jim Kneaves and it is holding up great. I used the prairie rattler because they are my closest neighbors.

Seth cant say where they come from. Got lucky when Jim posted this bow for sale on his page.

Charles Sinclair "Snakewood"on here (haven't seen him post in a long while through) is where I bought my Copperheads and Cotton Mouths from the Parries Rattler on another bow came from Jim.

Seth, you have to check out bull snake skins by David Conroy. He has a special way of tanning, the color is phenomenal and would match that riser very well. They are some of the coolest looking skins in my opinion! If you search PowWow I think you will find some of his skin work.

I like the subtle grey and brown of the copperhead.

Longbow917, I saw those and they look amazing! Too many great choices to pick from. Bull snake has now made it to the top of the list too!

I think whatever you choose will look pretty sweet on that centaur. You have an awesome looking bow! Centaurs are on my bucket list.

He will do any bow. He did a refinish and applied copper head skins to my Proghorn. His finish is the best and most durable you can get. Can't say enough about his work. :clapper:

I have bow skinned by many bowyers sponsors on here and all them make a fantastic job,but to me the way skins his bows is unreal and the skins look like they are been paint.
Any skin you like and matches your woods will work great.
