A low january-sun between the trees

My first "kill" of the day.

A rest in the sun...

A view over the lake Randsfjorden, and my home

A log frozen in ice. The ice looks almost like running water
(http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y251/ace_dalton/imagejpg2-1.jpg?t=1420304715)
A well used roe-deer trail. Look, but not touch... Bowhunting is not allowed in Norway.

Oops... we have a broken arrow. Where did my judo go?
Wait... there it is- under a spruce five feet away. Pure luck

You live in a beautiful place, but I don't think I could handle the hole no hunting thing.
-
Nice country and nice looking bow, wish I were out and about.
-
Great looking countryside!!
What make is your bow? Sweet looking stick!
-
Thank you for taking us along, is bow hunting not allowed because of lack of critters or just anti-hunting views? You live in a beautiful area!
-
Beautiful place you have there
-
Nice stuff.........
-
Very cool pictures ....
God bless,
Rodd
-
Very nice,it looks you have less snow than the average!
-
My ancestors were from Norway. My name is a translation Sunstone from Solstein. Great looking country someday I'd like to visit.
-
Very pretty place and a fun time. You cant ask for more. It's a shame you can't hunt there.
-
Great photos and gorgeous country Trond. Stumping is an awesome way to spend a winter afternoon.
Good Shooting,
Craig
-
Thanks, guys.
The bow is a BearPaw Cayuga 66", marked 35# @28". Beautiful bow from Germany with a 30 year warranty.
The no-hunting in Norway is just related to politics. Someone said that a bow isn't good enough to kill game. So we have only old tree-stumps and 3D-targets to hunt.
-
Stumping is as good as hunting. Maybe better, I get more shots that way. Wonderful photos.

I kind of agree with you, there. I used to hunt many years ago, but now my shotguns sits in the closet. These days I hunt stumps with my bow, and for animals I use my camera. A peaceful approach to life...

Great pics it's a lovely place. Sorry to hear your law makers suffer from brain damage hopefully one day they'll make a full recovery.

Nydelige bilder! Bare iskaldt regn her idag i New Hampshire, og stubbene fikk leve en stund til.

Am I the only one that agrees with eidsvolling?

Takker! Hadde ikke trodd jeg skulle få kommentar på norsk.

" Someone said that a bow isn't good enough to kill game."
Apparently they need to look at the success of hunting trad on this forum !
Nice pics.
-
Wow! Wonderful stumping country. Thanks for the pics, always happy to see shooters from the other side of the globe.
-
very cool thanks for sharing

Beautiful Countryside
I'm Also Norsk my Countryman

I thought Norway was under, like, 10 feet of snow in January! Thanks for the posts. Hope you get a hunting season in the near future.
-
Thank you for sharing your pictures. It is a beautiful place that you have for stumping. And I like your bow too. It is much like my Black Forest bow which is also a Bearpaw product.
-
Beautiful looking country! To bad bowhunting is not allowed.
-
Some similar country and forest to around here. Thanks for sharing.
-
Beautiful country!
Doubt I could live there if bowhunting is not allowed!
Looks like a fun day in the woods.

Yeah, but unless a miracle should happen, the only hunting this bow will do is stumping.
-
Sure glad I live in the usa. We have our issues but it would be an all out civil war again if they try to take our bowhunting away.
-
If you like to eat wild game meat then stumping is a nice way to practice for hunting. I like to stump but I LOVE hunting.
-
Beautiful scenery. When I was in Germany bow hunting was not allowed because the bow was considered a poacher's weapon.
Longbow Fanatic 1, those were my sentiments exactly!!!

Sounds like a great reason to vote them out of power. Thousands of years of bow hunting and war have proven the bow is a very effective weapon.
-
As long as extreme animal rights people have the amount of power that they have in Norway, voting out the politicians wont do any good. The Norwegian Bowhunters Association tried to get permission for a trial-hunt, but that was denied. So, for the time beeing, bowhunting in Norway is only a distant dream.

Good to know of another european trad archer
Greetings from Spain
-
Right back at you, Jorge. Is bowhunting allowed in Spain?
-
Trond, what part of Norway are you from?
My grandfather came from Rindal.
-
Awesome looking countryside! Thanks for sharing.

Olin, I am from a small place called Hov in a county called Søndre Land. It is about 250 miles south of Rindal. But I have spent a lot of days fishing up in Møre og Romsdal. Beautiful landscape up there, especially on the coast.

Good stuff Brother! Do you ever get to go hunting in other countries?

I guess I could, but I do not feel good enough yet. Releasing an arrow against a living target isn't something I will do unless I am pretty sure it will hit right. So stumping is my hunting form for now.
