Title: Kayaks and bows

I got a 9.5' kayak over the Holidays and am envisioning floating local streams and landing at select locations for bow fishing or fishing.  Anyone have any pics for mounting a bow on the exterior or any suggestions?  Thank you, Mike.

I'm assuming you have a sit in kayak.  It isn't easy, but you can do it.  Your butt is below the waterline so your bow is almost horizontal.  Fish need to be close to the surface to see them and there is a lot or refraction to deal with.  I probably get more by using the kayak to access out of the way areas and wading the shallows.  Great fun!

I just joined the packraft crowd, and my solution is my Thunder Child 2 piece. It fits in my Safari Tuff quiver when broken down and goes almost anywhere with me. I absolutely love the combination.    :bigsmyl:  

(Next stop, I believe will be Lanai for Axis deer ).

SWT: I hunted axis on Lanai a couple years ago. Track me down before you go if you want the wee bit of intel I know.

I want to give it a try this spring, I have a Jackson Coosa kayak it is very stable so i can stand up in it.

Bowhunting and kayaking, a couple of my favorite pastimes.  I have tried bowfishing from the kayak by kneeling in the seat facing the rear of the kayak. It was a little shaky at first but the longer I did it the more stable I became.  I strapped my bow to the rear bungee cords attached to the stern.

You can fabricate some outriggers for the "yak" with pvc pipe and one large swimming "Noodle".  Makes the yak a bit wider but much more stable.
