Bow season ends at dark tomorrow evening and I'm trying to milk every last drop out of it that I can. Been playin hit and miss with some deer and finally with some high winds from the right direction the plan came together. This doe was leading a string of a 1/2 dozen others thru the timber and I took a walking shot at 13 yards, not good at walking shots and hit a bit back. I had just used my KME the other day and put another wicked edge on the 150 grain buzzcut that I used. Deer went at the most 100 yards with a walk along kinda blood trail.

Used a black magic ILF riser and even had this one rigged up with a feather rest, that was a first for me and the dang thing shoots really good! Its a cheapo one, waiting on some Trap feather rest to get here and shoot a good one.

Nice. And fortunate. I have been trying hard to get out these last few weeks of the season... and I just love being out in the snow. But a lot of the days have been just to cold, and THEN when I have gotten out the deer just seem to have vaporized off of the planet. Tomorrow the temperature should be above 25 for long enough to enjoy a few late hours in the tree stand. Then snow is coming in and reported to be around zero in the next day or so. I did get the chance to take a picture of an end of season deer that just about says it all as he ate the corn my wife insisted on feeding him behind my house ( in the "no shoot zone")

Nice work John. Looks like a good one. How many bows you got now?!
Spent the last hunt in the sika woods. Ice sounded like breaking glass but they never showed themselves before dark. 2 more months and I'll be after them again. In New Zealand!

Yep....took it down to the wire myself and didn't see a deer, that's OK been a great season and now to get ready for next season.....
