I know we have a dedicated 'yote killer here but, how many others varmint hunt? Lets see some of your kills. I.E. Nutria, armadillers, possums and sich! :D

Here is my only one!
The day I shot him:

I sure would like to get a yote to put opposite of this kitty!

Thanks Jerry, awesome pics!

I have target coarse set up around my pond. while shooting the coarse with my Heartland longbow this guy come out to see what was going on. (http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z374/rgsines/IMG_2855_zps86458845.jpg)
-
Jerry, that fox is a true trophy. I've got a fox on my property that I've seen multiple times while deer hunting but every time he's running 50 mph and in all different directions.
You wanna talk about true skill, that right there is one of the hardest animals to take with a longbow in my opinion. Awesome job.

This nocturnal marauder made his appearance one to many times and then did not skedaddle fast enough and far enough.

It froze hard that night and it was a few weeks before i was able to get the skin off. Maybe a Quiver?

Its still wrapped up salted and frozen in the firestation freezer LOL. When I get the time at some point soon I will start tanning it.
-
9W9, when you start tanning it, you should do a follow along thread and have them put it in the how to forum. Just a thought! :)
-
These are great. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

A nice Gray Fox with my Longbow.

Heck yeah Tony. One day, I hope to add one of those.

This guy made a run to his hole but wasn't sure if I was just an ugly cow or not. Then made the mistake of poking his head out, 12 yards didn't move a muscle. :D

Those foxes are cool! I had a gray fox 10yds in front of me this deer season but did not shoot because the landowner had told us he did not want us to shoot "his" foxes.
I have shot lots of racoons, but really want a fox and a yote!
Congrats all you guys!

We got some Nutra rats running around here also. Maybe I oughta go and shoot me a couple. They are a nuisance to our ponds.
-
Great pics guys!

Ive gotten 1 raccoon and a couple yotes. The coon was with a Bighorn. The 2 yotes were with a couple Schafer recurves.
-
Tony, you are getting it done sir!
-
Great pics Tony!!
-
My very first coon taken with a bow, sometime back in the 80's using a old Bear Magnesium take down recurve(I still have this bow) with Easton autumn orange 2117 arrows, and a Zwickey eskimo broadhead. I was getting ready to leave my stand, when I heard something coming through the corn. He was making so much noise, that I thought it was a deer, but it was this coon.

Damn Tony, you're like a varmint killing machine!
-
My very first fox. Taken with my first so called custom made bow(LOL),called a SIKA. I had to shoot between two trees that were close together to take the shot. I was dosing off in the tree when he came trotting through, and the noise in the leaves brought me back to alertness. If he had kept going, I would not had a chance to shoot, but as he was trotting along, something on the ground caught his scent, so he came back and began to dig at the spot right out in front of my stand. And where he stopped was between the two trees. I already had an arrow knocked, and quickly came to full draw and let fly. Needless to say, with that big snuffer through his vitals,he did not go far at all.

Thumper Dunker, you are the man when it comes to Coyote Killing. When are you going to write the book on how to do it(LOL) Congrats man.

It took 3 times with me sucking on the back of my hand to bring him to shooting distance. The first two times he would come back only to a certain distance, but by the 3rd time he must have figured it was a rabbirt or something, and he practicaly came running to get, I guess what he thought was a free meal. I took him at 12 yards with a 4 Blade Black Diamond Delta Broadhead and a Fox Breed recurve bow.

Dang, Tony, y'all got a ton of varmints up there in MD! And sika deer too! I might just have to venture that way one of these days!
Bisch
-
Yes Bisch, we do have some varmints here in Maryland, but I don't think we even come close to Texas. And yes we do have the Sika deer, and would love to see you come and try your hand at them. They are quite fun to hunt, and they are mighty tasty. The few Sika deer I have taken have all been taken with a recurve, but this coming season I would like to take a couple with one of my Longbows.
Tony

This coon stayed out too late in the morning before he headed back to his den. He tried to take to the trees once he saw me, but I had other plans. Taken with a Talon Longbow made by the late Dave Paxton out of WV, and a Black Diamond Delta Broadhead.

Anymore? :D

Tony
I believe we share the same passion for hunting groundhogs. I've been admiring your pics for years. You have got some real trophies there. The big ones are the toughest to shoot. It took me three years to finally kill a monster hog I called "Groundhogasauras".
I don't have any pictures to share but last summer I shot my 250th groundhog with a bow. All but the very first one was with traditional bows. I've been chasing them for almost 30 years and can honestly say I'd rather hunt groundhogs than anything else.
This is a great thread!
-
Do birds count!! :bigsmyl: A rather damp, day in the mountains chasin elk last September! Boy was that grouse tasty compared to the mountain house meals we'd been dining on all week!

Grouse is good eat'ns! :D

I climbed into my stand for the evening deer hunt. Shortly after I got settled in my stand with the bow hanging and arrow knocked. I kept hearing this strange noise that I could not identify by it's sound. So finally I looked up into a tree that was next to the tree that I was in and saw this coon making his presence known. He did not like me being in that tree beside him. So I took out a blunt arrow and sent it right into the tree right beside him. When the arrow hit, he took off up the tree and, I thought he was gone. Later on I looked back toward the tree, and this ole coon had came down much closer to me with his hair standing up on his back and looking directly at me as if to issue a challenge. Well he should have left good enough alone, because he lost the challenge. Anyone for coon pot roast.
