For those of you who have had some shoulder surgery and rehab . How did you go about starting back shooting, and were yall afraid to shoot?

take your bow to your doc or physical therapist. let them see the muscle groups that come into play when you draw the bow. they will be the ones with the best advice IMHO.

I had rotator cuff surgery and a portion of the clavicle removed.  Took about 4 months to be back up to pulling 45 pounds.  Follow your rehab therapy religiously.  Start out with a light 20 pound bow and work back.

Rotator cuff and torn bicept surgery 10/31/14.  Starting shooting a 35# bow after 10 weeks, approved by my surgeon, moved to 40# the past 3 weeks and will increase to 45# in a week,  Will be at my hunting weight, 53# by April 1. As others have said listen to your PT and surgeon.

Shoulder surgery way back in 1995.  One of the things that really helped me and still does was my rubber band system I purchased.  It is a very heavy duty red rubber band that has a handle on one end and a strap/loop on the other so I can attach it to just about anything that is stable.  I still use this rubber band to this day to loosen up and keep the muscles loose in the winter when not shooting. I would suggest you get one or make one.  By the was I am a trauma nurse for almost 40 years now.
