Title: Mississippi Hogs

My wife and I will be in southern MS the first week of March.  Anything anyone can tell me about hog hunting opportunities in the area?  Any DIY public land with good hog numbers?

Panther Swamp and Hillside have good hog numbers. Both are near Yazoo City. Can be hunted with broad heads during turkey season.

Hog hunting on public land in south Ms. is off until March 14 when as James said turkey opens. Our wildlife agency quickly recognizes them as a nuisance but refuses to expand seasons on public land. Sorry the time frame wont work for you but if you want to get together and shoot several T-Gangers live in Jackson Co. so p.m. me if you want my phone no. in advance. Are you aware that the Pre- spring arrow fling will be going on just below Birmingham the last weekend in Feb. Great event! Kirk

As ole Possumhead stated our hog season will start up again during Turkey season on public land. But if you have access to private they can be hunted year round and at night.
