Title: Shelf life for Urac?
Post by: suburbanirma on February 17, 2015, 05:49:00 PM
A few years ago I bought some Urac wood glue. I never opened the can or the plastic bag with the powder in it. Does anyone know if this glue will be any good, or should I use smooth-on to glue up bamboo/osage longbow?

I would guess it's toast.  It doesn't have a real long shelf life.

The shelf life for the Urac 185 is a year by there standards. I know you can extend the life by keeping in the refer.
The Urac has been reformulated and is now Urac 800. I got this info from Bamboo flyrods makers blog.

If you open the can you should be able to tell if it is good.
If clumpy or looks odd then toss.

No reason not to use the smooth on.
