Title: Draw length change and arrow adjustments?
Post by: S.C. Hunter on March 01, 2015, 01:28:00 PM
Okay so here is my situation. I have the GT 5575 cut to 29.5" bop, fletched with 3-5" shield cut feathers. I have a total point weight up front of 200gr. Thinking of going to 4 fletch one option. After some work last year on my form my draw length has gone from 28" to a solid 29.5" mostly due to posture but changed my form also. These still shoot well from the bow, but they also only have field points installed. If I mount broadheads I'm going to have issues, too close for comfort.

I'll be shooting these from my Robertson primal styk longbow. 66" 56#@28 but I am closer to 60# at my draw length now. So thinking about going to at least 30.5" bop and not sure how much the spine will change. I am also considering the Traditional only shafts from Three rivers. The spine scale is different for these arrows. Any input especially from those with draw length in that range would help. Looking for the same flight I am getting now, but need the extra clearance for my broadheads. Forgot to mention I do have wraps on these arrows not sure if it makes much difference.

Well you could look at it like a draw stop, what your saying is the back of the BH is going to touch your index finger, in my opinion that isn't all bad it will keep you consistent, I have been contemplating shortening an arrow or two to do some experimenting with this exact thing.

That's a thought usually just had them slightly longer. Thanks
