Good luck. I had a tom strutting and gobbling 80 yards out for 3 hours this morning! He had a hen with him and I saw them mate once.
Also... sent you a PM Joe. Message from Jack.

Does it worry you having red and white feathers . never know with an over zealous
Shotgunner.

No worries Kevin. I hunt 3 acres of private land plus a huge parcel. Any "gun" hunters sneaking in are trespassing and will be dealt with accordingly.
Trust me....once confronted they won't return.

Best of Luck!!!

Good Luck Joe.

I wish you'd show a little more enthusiasm Joe. I also hope you have better luck than I've had here in Jersey. This season has sucked. Haven't worked one single bird in two weeks. I'm not the greatest caller but I'm not that bad. Had a couple of pissed off hens gettin' ready to kick my ass but that was it. No gobbling on the roost and no jakes, which is really odd. Maybe the winter had more effect than we know around here. Anyway, good luck and let me know how you do.

Well, My morning was a BUST!!!!!
Looks like we're not gonna be able to make it up to the cabin this weekend, SO I decided to head down the Cemetary, to see if any birds were around... I had my vest all ready to go,and ALMOST forgot to pin my license on the back!!! I grabbed my old Grizzly and 6 of our new "Turkey Woodies" Tyler fletched up, plus a couple old blunt arrows just in case things got boring, and stuffed them in my Side Stalker quiver.....
When I got to the Cemetary, it was just breaking daylight. I got out of the truck & grabbed my vest to put it on, when my tag holder, fell on the ground... I picked it up & I had a dumb thought... "Did we get Turkey Permits last fall"?????
Last year they "Re-Vamped" our license system. I had always gotten the "Super Sportsman" which included EVERYTHING related to hunting & fishing. Last Fall, You had to purchase everything individualy. Somehow, I'd forgotten to purchase our Turkey Permits!!!!! :banghead:
Looks like my Turkey Hunt, just turned into a "stump shoot" LOL!!! Good thing I grabbed those old blunts... Never leave home without them!!!!! :archer:

Same here this year. Everybody I talk to says they aren't seeing many birds. I've had to work my butt off over the past couple weeks just to find a few to hunt, now that It's open. I don't know, half of me says leave them alone this year, and the other half is weak. We're allowed two birds, but I think I'm going to limit myself to one this year. I did have some action this morning, but I already posted about it, so I won't here. Good luck.

Yesterday I heard 2 distant gobbles and had a group of jake's walk through just as i was getting ready to make a set. I had to wait until they were gone before finishing my set up....
