Got a new custom longbow from Idaho Curt and this thing just leveled me when it came out of the box so I figured I would share a bit. Attached are a few pics from Curt and a few of my close ups to show off some details. Main riser and limb veneers are from the same piece (which I kinda think is cool) of an absolutely stunning piece of myrtle with some bastogne walnut for riser footing and koa accents. IMO Curt finds and uses just some of the most amazing samples of woods you can get. To boot, this bow is a performing. Nice smooth draw at my 29in and delivers a fast flat arrow where your looking. Not to carry on too much but Curt was also alot of fun to do business with. From the start, I made it clear I was interested in giving him artistic license with the bow, and after asking a few questions about what I like, pictures of wood blocks starting coming in to see what I thought. I personally really enjoy getting the "in-process" pics showing the progression of blocks of wood to functional art forms which Curt provided. Stunningly beautiful. God created some unbelieveable wood and gave it to Curt to bring that beauty to the public. The Bible says it like this. It is the glory of God to hide a thing and the honor of kings to search out a matter. Well sir, Curt searched out this matter and did an awesome job of it.
God bless, Steve

Curt's limb attachments are a bit different and pretty cool. As you can see the limbs are flush with the riser, but then the bolt is hidden in the riser itself and accessed from the back of the riser itself. You actually see none of the hardware which gives a pretty slick look. I'll get some pics up later to show it better.

Some closer pics of the limb bolt connection, or at least what you can see of it from the back of the riser. Also extra pic of front of riser and limb/riser overlay. Really unique integrated limb bolt system. (http://i.imgur.com/T046TjV.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/pc1kwAb.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/9BhNPxL.jpg)

Curt has some great material and that is an absolutely awesome looking bow. Great design and I bet she's an awesome shooter too. Myrtle has got to be one of my favorite woods. So many different grain variations and great character.
Congrats to both of you on a one of a kind custom bow.

Very Sweet!

Stunning is the word and I am not afraid to repeat it! WOW

Curt is second to none when is time to choose woods and his bows look as good. I would like to try one of his recurves.

I have found that the only problem with shooting one of his longbows is now wanting to try one of his recurves as well. But I always find that getting one bow just gives me more of the "wants" for some unexplained reason :dunno:

That's A Masterpiece!!

That's real Purdy. Bet she shoots good .

Like the way the limbs "flow" into the riser. Just can't get used to TD longbows with the limbs sitting on top of the riser, if you know what I mean. I have two Hummingbird TD longbows with similar limb attachment as Curt's. That type of limb attachment looks okay on a TD recurve though. Just my opinion.

Congratulate on these wonderful bow!
Curt is the best one!

If you want to see what his recurve looks like with this kind of limb attachment, go to his existing website. Has a beauty there. Looks almost like a one-piece. If only I hadn't looked. Really want one now. I have a feeling you'll like it too. Contacted him and he's consolidating his two sites into one but it's taking longer than expected.
