Post by: longbow fanatic 1 on July 31, 2015, 04:42:00 PM
Looking for the lightest weight, most comfortable and packable chair on the market.

I have the Double Bull blind stool and like it alot, comes with carry strap..not very heavy not sure of the exact weight..
I have another stool from Gander Mnt. thats a little shorter and smaller that weighs next to nothing, but not near as comfortable as the DB stool.

Double Bull is the best I have found so far. I don't sit blinds a whole lot, but if i do, I can stay comfortable in this chair/stool for quite a while.

Not the lightest at 10# but the most comfortable, adjustable and silent swiveling chair I've used, the Huntmore.

The one I like the best is made by Woodsey Too treestands, and is called the Lil' Seat. It is not very packable or particularly light weight, but it dang sure is comfortable. It is great for more permanent ground blind applications.

I have 2 hunt mores and for me and short sits, its ok but when I was in QB on Bear quest before I was not comfortable and needed a pillow on top the seat. I had to put a board under the ground was very soft and just could not get situated. Is it a great chair it is but if your heavy I guess it is a little more challenging for me at least. Really not sure what else I could get that might be better though?

Dennis,

I've had a Bale Blind Chair for a year and a half and love it.  Have sat for 10 hours during turkey season.   http://bahunting.com/products/chairs/   I saw them at the Madison Deer Classic again this year and was informed that the product line was sold and the new chairs are being made by  http://redneckblinds.com/store/portable-hunting-blind-chair.   Original were domestic aluminum framed and the new ones are steel and imported.

I have been looking at the redneck blind chair, but it is heavy at 16 pounds.  It would be like carrying a tree stand on your back.

If you're wanting a chair for a pop up blind, then I'd recommend the Magnus Rack Pack Convertible Chair. It is a pack which converts into a pretty comfortable chair and carries a pop up blind with ease.

For all out comfort the Millennium G100 is far and away the best I have ever had.  I have a Waldrop as well, and like that too, but the Millennium is much more comfortable for long sits.

Most packable and surprisingly comfortable for its size would have to be the Niff-T-Seat. It's an amazing little chair.

I agree, I have tried just about all of them and the Millennium is the best for a pop up blind. for a natural ground blind, I like the Hammock seat.

We bought a cheap swiveling camp chair, the kind they folds up and goes in the long bag. It had a swivel in the middle of the legs, it's quiet, rotates 360* , comfortable and cheap, but it's not camo .

Dennis,

I've had most of them. The Waldrop is a great light packable hunting chair, but if I sit more than 2-3hrs it gets a little uncomfortable. I know that you and Irv are going speed goat hunting, so I assume you are looking for something in the blind sitting over waterholes. You will be in for all day sits, so you will want to be comfortable.

I sold the Blind King chairs until they took them to China. Like Pete said they are all steel now and very heavy, but they swivel and are comfortable. I bought a Millennium G100 last year and you won't go wrong with one, adjustable, swivels and comfortable. It would fit the bill for your goat hunt.

Call me! Come over and sit in any or all of them and you can decide.

I am about the order one the Shappell Chairs.  It rotates and only weighs 3.5lbs.  The reviews are very positive.

Thanks, Kevin. I appreciate your insight and offer. You're right. This is for the pronghorn hunt. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and order the Millennium G100. It seems like that will be the ticket, so to speak.

I have owned most all of them except the Huntmore. Have tried several of the ones mentioned and they were too low, too small and a couple even broke.I have a Waldrop and it begins to get very uncomfortable after about30 minutes. The bar causes my legs to go to sleep. My favorite seat to carry while still hunting is the Walkstool. It only weighs 30 ounces and is nearly indestructible but it has no backrest. At Comptons I got a Millenium from Big Jim and have so far not found a more comfortable blind chair. It swivels quietly and is adjustable for height and uneven ground. Not sure what it weighs but is still a little heavy to carry while still hunting.
