Hi all!
I built my first longbow when I was 14-15 years old and I've been lurking here for quite some while. I decided I finally needed to join up and draw from all of your expertise. I'll soon be 29, and I'm a knife smith by trade (along with a chainsaw and OPE repair business) now that my contractor days are over. I recently sold two of my woodcraft/bushcraft and hunting puukko knives to a local restaurant and decided I wanted to try a shorter manufactured bow so I bought a Samick Sage 40# and all the fixings a month ago and I love it so far. It's a little higher poundage due to stacking at my draw length (I'm 6'5"). I just wanted to thank all the contributors here for all the useful information and I hope to be an active part of the community and glean what I can from all of you. Looking forward to making many friends. My plan is to practice enough with this new bow to where I feel comfortable using it this archery season and beyond. Thanks again and hi from Northwest MO!

Hello Jarod. Have you wornout that water stone yet?
-
Awe shoot! Literally... I already have plans for that day. My friends are having me over for a Cajun cookout. How often do you guys get together over in Maryville? I could definitely use the practice and probably a few tips on my form. Where do you get together over there? Oh and thanks, all. This is definitely the warmest welcome I've received on a forum to date.

Butch! No I haven't! I got a Japanese set to accompany it and a stone to flatten it out from time to time. Good to see you!

Jarod, welcome from AZ. You know that you can get 64" limbs for your bow at 3-rivers and others for $75 or less to help with your draw.

Here is my bow along with a couple traditional Finnish puukko knives. One is hand forged but the other is a boughten Enzo blade.
