In anticipation of weds evening when we hit the road I'm going to start this thread a little early. I promise not to draw this put to long until I get down there and give updates of all the action "I hope". Since I hit the woods at a young age my dad and I have dreamed of such a trip we are about to take. $ to pay an outfitter and jobs with not enough vacation have been a issue. My dad is my best friend and hunting partner like so many of you I'm sure and the chance arose a couple months ago to trade a longbow fora chance on private land in Ohio in November. The gentleman whom I made the exchange with is now a great friend and all has worked out as planned. Not having the $ to take my dad anywhere in return for being a great dad has always weighed on me. But I jumped at the opportunity realizing I could lose my only bow I own. It was a chance worth taking and has started a true fairytail for us and I hope I can fill you in while on my journey and a happy ending withmy dad and his biggest buck. Michigan is just tough ill leave it at that. Not that Ohio will be like getting candy on Halloween but a farm of this size and nit hunted in 3years I like my odds. Thank you for reading my post andI hope I have some great updates!

Best of luck to you and your father, I hope you get a chance at a nice buck. I too will be heading for Ohio but not until Sunday and will have my brother with me. We have been sharing bow camps now since 1969.

Thank you very much. The fairy tale ending to this will be for dad to take a great deer Arthritis and all
-
just the fact that you hunt with your dad is a fairy tale bud..I would give anything to go bowhunting with my pops....he hunted some back in the late 70's early 80s with a gun but he was never much on it...he was a farmer, a working man. I learned to hunt on my own but i always wanted him to go with me, he was too busy working the farm but he let me have at it. hope you guys enjoy each other and the time together, for it will be the trip you remember most not the taking of a deer as much. Be safe!

Well tonight saw one of the coolest things. I grunted a buck across a river tonight all that was sticking up was his head lol it was so neat. About a 2 yr old 8pthe didn't come by stand. Would have been very tempting on night number one

Sounds like your gonna have fun.
Good luck, God bless,

Seeing a few bucks one good one last night but he was to far out in field. This morning I passed on a young 7 pt but he was fun to watch running with his tounge out lol. Yesterday was the best though. Setting in camp and saw a buck in field so we ran down and cut him off at a fence row in our jeans and t shirts lol. I grunted him in to dad but a very young 87 pt but that was a rush. Hopefully tonight
-
I think I would have to shoot an 87 point young or not , good luck guys....
