Title: Chips in bow finish. Should I be concerned?

My Fox High Sierra has seen plenty of days in the field and has some scars to show for it. I am wondering if I should be concerned or if there's something I should do about it. I thought about giving Ron a call, but figured I start here for some advice.

I'm no bowyer but those don't look like much to worry about. Unless it bothers you to see those scars.

Mine is waaaaaay worse than that. When it gets to the point that  it bothers you enough, get it refinished.

If they are deep and your are concerned, use a drop of Polyurethane on a toothpick to fill the chip. It will seal it to prevent water from getting under the finish. It comes in gloss and satin. Use one that will match the finish the best. Let it dry thoroughly.

Those  are nothing. Hud has a good idea . I just grab what's close super glue, clear finger nail polish if I can't her clear stuff pink works.
Those are beauty marks. If a bow don't have dings and scratches its not having fun.

I would carefully apply super glue, sand smooth with 200/400 grit sandpaper, then spray a few coats of finish (spar urethane or tru-oil).  

This is something you can do yourself and you will be pleasantly surprised at what you've done.

The biggest thing is you don't want moisture to enter.

Just a general thought here...I have a Fox Maverick that has been camo dipped...that is just another finish option for a chipped up bow

If you check out his website you will find that Ron's price to refinish that bow with an epoxy finish is 150 bucks and includes a new string...current expoxy finishes can be almost indestructable
