Title: Who say's Friday the 13th is bad luck???
Post by: Lynch Mob on November 17, 2015, 10:06:00 AM: Friday the 13th was definitely one lucky day for sure...Shot a ten point buck on my lease here in southeast Iowa.
I live right off Rathbun Lake and the day before was so lucky, that a tornado had traveled right across the lake, and just missed me taken out a few farms. In fact my good friend Steve O had stopped by for a visit as he was down hunting in a different area...I believe he got to see first hand the catastrophic effects of this storm. The following day we had 20 to 30 mph winds and decided to take advantage of the high winds to set up a stand in an area that I have seen several good bucks use.
Snuck in the stand the very next day, and was blessed with my first Iowa buck. I asked my buddy Steve to post the pics for me...I apologize just haven't figured that out yet.

That's the exact buck I dream about on all those 10 hour drives out there! Perfect Iowa buck.

Post by: Tradcat on November 17, 2015, 12:39:00 PM: I arrowed my biggest buck on Friday the 13th 1998 in Missouri....In fact, I even wrote a story about this topic and submitted it to Buckmaster Magazine about this very topic. I sent them a 2 1/2 page story and they told me that the story would be in the September 2002 issue of the magazine ! Not only was this a shock because the story was almost 4 years old at that point BUT they condensed my story into a paragraph featured I the "super shots" category in the back of the magazine ! So much for my moment of glory ....
