Anybody shoot over 600gr. arrow with a 45-48lb bow for hunting?Been playing around with some 2016s for my HHbows.Been using 165 simmmons safaris with 100gr.broadhead adapter and 100gr.brass insert and the arrows are flying like darts.Almost 700grs. but fly straight.Anybody else shoot a heavy set-up in their Hills with low poundage? Is this to much up front?

I'm getting ready to try some CE 250's, 29.5", with 120 gr inserts and Simmons Tigershark 175 broadheads. Total arrow weight will be right at 650
The bow is an old Bear Grizzly 41# @28
Good luck, shoot straight and God bless,
Rodd

765gr AD hammerhead 100gr brass insert 250gr Abowyer brown bear BH. I will say there is a serious arc on longer shots, but it sure puts the slam on big game.

My arrows range from 610 to 670 depending on the bow they are for. Its overkill for goats here in hawaii, but I like the thump it puts on a pig!!

845 grains from a 50 lb @ 28" Martin Mamba (I draw something less, haven't measured but 26" or 27" ish I think). Beman 300, VPA 250 gr glue on, 75 gr adapter, 100 gr brass insert, double footed with aluminum.

625 to 675 from ASLs at 37# to 48#. Smooth, quiet with clean flight.

625-700 grain Ash arrows from my ASL's that are in the 45# range.

The glory of the traditional way.
One size does not fit all nor should it be made to fit each individual.
Provided one can consistently place the arrow on the mark within his or her own personal effective hunting range, then a heavier arrow would be golden.

Bows that are 43-47 pounds, arrows cedar, carbon and aluminum 600-650 gr. Went right thru a 150 lb. black bear this past spring. Used 125 gr ACE Standard broadhead.
