Bought my first new custom bow (takedown) in 2009. I've been shooting recurves and longbows for 45 years. Probably owned 50 or more different ones over the years. This one cost me $1,000.00. It's been making a creaking sound when I string and unstring and pulled back the first time or two. Been doing this for a number of years. I read on here to put some string wax between limbs and riser. I did that and it quit for a month or so. Started to creak again couple days ago , so I put some more string wax under limb attachments and was pulling back a few times to see if it quit when the lower limb delaminated. I'll try to post some pics. I'm going to contact the bowyer to see if he's willing to help with this situation. I don't believe this should have happened.I take excellent care of all my bows and always properly string and store them. http://imgur.com/3lEAiPd, http://imgur.com/7S2d3ns, I'll let you know what bowyer says.

It completely came apart. I have never experienced this, with exception when I drove over a bow. Look forward to the outcome.

I feel for you.. I hope it gets fixed....

I feel for ya had that happen before. The good thing about yours is its a 3pc take down. So the whole bow wasnt effected just the limbs. HopeFully you get it taken care of without much hassle

Here is the results. I called bowyer but it's Saturday so no answer. I then sent an email with explanation and pics, I didn't figure to hear back untill Monday at earliest, but the bowyer called back within a couple hours. He was glad no one was hurt and was very willing to help correct the problem. We talked for 15 minutes or more on the phone. He offered to make a new set of limbs at a very reduced rate. I'm very pleased. He is a tradgang sponsor and a top rate person. I'm not going to mention his name for fear he could be taken advantage of. I will just say all the sponsors on this site that I've dealt with are top notch. I'm a happy customer and wanted to share my experience.
If you hear creaking sounds from your bow. look it over very closely, could be more than just needing string wax under limbs.
Good luck to all and a special thanks to the bowyer.

Happy to hear it! I agree that the sponsors here are top notch, as are the vast majority of the members I've had the good fortune to meet in person.

Thats great to hear!!!!

I'm sorry to hear such bad news.
The upside is it's closer to the end of the season than the start of it and it sounds like you're gonna be back in business with your favorite before the beginning of next year's season.

I saw the pictures - OHH OUCH!
I'm glad a solution is going to work out for you.

It is good to hear that you got a satisfactory solution without a lot of hassle. It says a lot about your bowyer. It is par for the course with Trad Gang sponsors, though. I read a lot of threads explaining how well the sponsors are looking out for us.

There are a lot of good people in Traditional Archery.

Glad things worked out for you. Inquisitive. How long is the bow and how long is your draw length?
-
60" bow ; 28" draw length.
-
i know what thats like
-
Oh, that sucks! I have broken a couple bows, and it is never cool!

Knock on wood this hasn't happened to me...I got my first custom this year and I'd cry if it only lasted a few years

X2 Very well said.

that is a shame but this is why I recommend everyone have at least 3 favorite bows and maybe 10 sort of favorite bows.
