ok everyone, im starting to look into a hunt for next year. it will be myself and 2 buddies.
we are thinking about renting a house for a week or even a cabin. we would like to rent a place with land to hunt on. we aren't looking for BIG bucks.. just like to see deer.
anyone know of a place that would fit that description? im hoping to book something by next month.

If you are thinking PA, think south-west or south central. The mountain county deer populations are way down.
Have a great hunt!

Ohio deer numbers were awful this year. I'm hoping for a rebound soon.

Have you given any thought to NY? Plenty of public land, from the Adirondacks & Catskills to the state forests and state parks of central & western NY. Alleghany State Park borders PA and has cabin rentals.

you know, I didn't consider NY. I actually hunt in eastern ny. I buy a licence every year.
maybe I should look for cabins or rental property in the western end of the state

Ohio was tough this year for me. I saw one deer and Ill blame the 77* weather and lack of acorns. Its beautiful country though and Ill go back.
If your gonna buy the NY license, check out Letchworth state park. BIG bucks with cabin rental available. Its something on my horizon. My brother picked up a monster shed in Letchworth and I know some fellas have pulled good ones from there.
