GROUND BLIND BOW HOLDER
« on: January 04, 2016, 02:05:00 PM »
Anyone ever use one of the stake type made for compounds?
Just wondering if they can be used with a trad bow?

Been using these for years, work great with a stickbow.

The short one's that are non adjustable don't work well at all with trad bows.

I have been hanging my bow from the top of my pop-up blind and like it better than a stake (which I used for a couple years).  I just have a cheap wire S-hook that I found on my work bench.  Works great.  I think the deal is that the wire is thin.  It is about 3" long.

Look at the accessories at Hawk treestands. Last year I used their wire and made a "J" hook out of it and tied it to the ceiling of my double bull. Worked great. I noticed that Hawk has a few more accessories that might work in a blind and/or in a tree.

I finally figured out a good way to set up my bow with an arrow on the string in a blind..   Take a string tie it to the roof of your blind make a non slip loop that will reach the top limb tip of your bow when the bottom limb is on the ground... Then just lean your bow into it so the broad head is where you want it and your good to go... works great.  Parachute cord works great..

I'm liking the looks of that one. I may have to give it a try.

Thanks for posting!

Probably make one on the REAL cheap with a wood stake and a couple nails, using a similar design as the Ameristep... I've got a natural ground hide, pounded a couple nails into a stump for the same concept...

I like the one Curt, Kingstaken, and Bisch are referencing.  Might get one for myself and son...

I bought a different kind of holder last year, and don't like it at all.
